Protest In Bauchi In Support Of Fuel Subsidy Removal by 247frolicboss(m): 12:01pm On May 17, 2016 |
While most people have been on the President’s neck over the removal of fuel subsidy, Bauchi youths have come out to stage a protest in support of the President’s decision. The NLC and many other parties have decried the move with the NLC giving the Federal government an ultimatum to reverse the price or face a strike action. Meetings between the Federal Government and Labour so far have yielded no results and it remains to be seen what will happen on that front. But the Bauchi youths want to stand behind Buhari’s decision which is being touted to in the long run provide jobs and abolish fuel scarcity. http://www.newshelm.com/2016/05/photos-mass-protest-on-going-in-bauchi.html 6 Likes 2 Shares

These people are protesting in favor of deregulation not because they know the economic advantage of deregulation of PMS but, because it is Buhari . Assuming it's a southern president, they would be be protesting in opposition to pump price hike. That said, I am a southerner, a critic of buhari administration, support deregulation because that's the best way to go. I also advise that naira be completely floated to boost economic development. If he had floated naira earlier, we might have avoided some of the mess the country is in at the moment. These are truly zombies, northern Nigeria has a long way to go. 251 Likes 17 Shares |

One of Buhari's aide must ve given this jobless, illiterate, ignoramus, urchins some peanuts or even promised to give them the peanuts after the display. I don't blame them to an extent cos the govt subject us to abject poverty so that they can manipulate us by giving us small goodies. Quote me anywhere, most of them are yet to eat today so y wouldnt they do the little gra gra for today's bread forgetting dat tomorrow's is at stake. 9 Likes |

This is the best opportunity ever for government to do away with subsidy. If you have the entire north and the south west on your side, you can achieve almost anything you want in Nigeria. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Somebody told them the planned strike/ protest was against Buhari; against the north; against Islam. They were convinced that this is a plan by southern christians to retaliate; Occupy Nigeria under Buhari. As usual, the voice of bigotry is loud and irresistible. They have ignored their hungry stomachs, unpayed and unimproved salaries, worsening economic situation . They are standing with the serpent that torments them! I am thoroughly convinced the NLC needs to show some balls, now or never. Not necessarily against subsidy removal, but for better welfare, immediate payment of all outstanding salaries and benefits. We would not forget how Bauchi state killed 44 corpers in 2011. Now they have started again 22 Likes 1 Share |
