The church does more charities than government . churches go to hospitals ,motherless babies home, old people centre, prisons and the inner city, just to mention few. as i said , few who publicised such good deed were criticised

1. When you say the Church does more charities than government, then the entire scope of your premise is limited to Nigeria/Africa. Can you say that about Sweden, UK, USA or even North Korea? Do you know in North Korea, a 2hr railway line was built to a remote village simply because of the existence of just one family?

2. When Jesus Christ gave alms to the poor and did other miracles, it was self-evident and noticeable. It supports what scripture says," a city built upon a hill cannot be hidden." If people are blessed, it will show and they will be too grateful to keep quiet. When Jesus healed and taught about giving, nobody could argue with him because he lived what he preached. The truth is if the church was charitable enough, it does not need to defend it self and people will not call pastors and church members greedy. The church is receiving criticisms because it has failed in this capacity. The paucity of testimonies on giving and the fact that pastors need to quote scriptures on giving or cajole members to give is in it self evidence that the church misappropriates funds or is lagging when it comes to giving.

Until I start seeing Pastors building public schools and hospitals that run free. And until I start seeing their scholarship offer adverts in the universities like shell, chevron and total scholarship, I will only count their charity testimony as same with their miracles testimonies. grin
