This is terrible.

This guy is poorly advised.

He needs to come to Europe and publicise his case, instead of sitting in Nigeria and fighting for something when he can easily be killed over there, or judges can be bought to rule against him.

I fear this story is not going to end up on the right note.

Ehn, I've been following this man's case for over 5 years now. He should accept anything they give him over $1 billion.

Kano state that sued Pfizer for about $4 billion has now settled for less than $100 million in a case that borders around loss of human life.

This guy's story is so fishy, it stinks. I don't believe anyone offered him $1 billion, not to talk of refusing. His insistence that he was promised $2 per barrel is so laughable, i can't imagine why anyone would fall for it.
Notwithstanding the amusingly generic product name 'Anti-corrosive paint', why would any oil company sign such an agreement when many of them barely make $5 per barrel? Especially during the '80s?
All i see is another Abalaka-esque figure out to play on Nigerian's love for such wondrous tales. The federal Govt is very much the dominant partner in Oil production in Nigeria, so why are they not joined as part of this suit?

Nearly went blind from working with salty water, eh? I wonder why there aren't more blind fishermen in town.

It actually sounds fishy but his story is very true.

There's no court in the world that will make a company which employs hundreds of thousands of people pay out billions of dollars that will fold it up. This old man should let other people think for him.

The man is suffering delusions of granduer. His delusion is that he wants to use the money to change Nigeria, and build 40 new towns in the country. When his story first broke, I realised that the royalties due to him are ten times the Market Cap of Total or whichever company he claims owes him the money.

Guy, just collect your $1bn and enter Forbes list jejely.

Check out his website. Read this and you'll see how implausible his story is.

It's a shame this fellow has been able to mislead gullible Nigerians into thinking he was for real.

Won't this slowpoke collapse at the sight of 1 billion greenbacks?

Unfortunately, he's blind. I cannot believe that people on Nairaland are taking King Dr Clem Uwemedimo seriously. He probably paid some broke journalist 10,000 to write that drivel. This man is a lunatic who brainwashes dummies into contributing money to his fictional "patent fund". He thinks he is the new Guru Maharaji.

Last month, he took out a half page advert in Punch and promised returns of 30,000 per month to anybody that joins his wonder bank company.

For the records, this crazy, pseudo-scientific individual also runs a religious organization and his adherents call him the "King of the Earth".

Last year, after getting a favourable judgement at one of the high courts, he raised so much dust only to eat his words after Mobil's Eyimofe Atake-led legal team trounced him in the United States.

He's a charlatan just like some of Nigeria's favourite pastors.

The man seems a sham. People who invent stuff these days do not get anything close to 1 billion as property right. How come you do not find anything about him elsewhere except in his seemingly rag-tag website?

Only in Nigeria will this kind of cock and bull story be accorded any semblance of credibility. It's not worth debating.
