Cancer risk among people drinking chlorinated water is as much as 93% higher than among those whose water does not contain chlorine." U.S. Council of Environmental Quality "Of particular note, FDA does not have the specific statutory authority to require bottlers to use certified laboratories for water quality tests or to report test results, even if violations of the standards are found," the GAO [General Accountability Office] report reads. "Americans are willing to pay top dollar for bottled water, which costs up to 1,900 times more than tap water and uses up to 2,000 times more energy to produce and deliver, Over the past several years, however, bottled water has been recalled due to contamination by arsenic, bromate, cleaning compounds, mold, and bacteria. In April, a dozen students at a California junior high school reportedly were sickened after drinking bottled water from a vending machine. The FDA recently stated, “Companies that market bottled water as being safer than tap water are defrauding the American Public”. the question now is if even the world power has water problems, and they cant even regulate their bottled water, what do we say NAFDAC is doing in nigeria. and everyday we see new water companies. so whats the problem, is it NAFDAC,the bottled water companies or the public. |

the question now isThe question is, what is your question exactly? Do you want to discuss the alleged carcinogenic properties of chlorinated water? (most bottled water is spring water which is good in that respect) Or the fact that developed countries have drinkable tap water (which we do not?) and therefore they don't need bottled water (while we do)? You need to rethink your post and decide one the topic you want us to discuss. |

the only people that use spring water is gossy water and im sure you notice that its nt always in circulationthey cant meet demand, due to the fact t hat its spring naturla water.most bottled water companies use chlorine even the best of them use chlorine. more and more the us governemnt is stopping its people from drinking tap water and some states have placed banns on bottled water, telling them to make use of home water filters one of teh fastest growing water industries in the us, my point is how sure are we that the water we drink in ot 80% chlorine which most companies use to treat their water so that they can meet demand. we even use the same chlorine to reat our boreholes. does nafdac have quality control. if they do then why chlorine. |

Gossy aren't de only ones to use spring water, they're even newbies in de industry. Swan water is also tapped from a spring in mangu,Plateau state. For me the big to-do is the plastic bottles. These things are non-biodegradable and we don't recycle them, killing our environment slowly but surely.I personally don't buy bottled water for home use anymore and i reuse plastic bags as often as possible. |
