To keep your child's body temperature at the best level, always make sure he or she wears a coat during cold weather and spends as much time as possible in air-conditioned areas on hot days.

Children with sickle cell disease will sometimes experience pain episodes. let child's health care provider teach you the best ways to handle these episodes of pains at home. It will be good if you have drugs like ibuprofen at home always for it is good for mild pains. Maintain healthy habits
Make sure you teach your child healthy practices every day. The child should be taught how to drink plenty of water to help prevent dehydration. As a mother or care giver eating of balanced diet is very important for the child. Children with sickle cell disease should be allowed to participate in physical activity like running or playing football to stay active. Rest breaks are also important.
