If you would kill 5 more Harambes on the spot to protect one human, then WHY DO WE HAVE ZOO's? why are we capturing and enslaving them if the motive is to kill them at the slightest provocation. Are your intentions any different from poachers?

mtcheeeew. How can you even liken that to poaching? What's the economic reward that comes from killing an animal to protect a human?

You call that slightest provocation. So you'd rather sit in the name of animal rights and watch to see if the kid would get killed? It's okay because he strayed in there by himself? It's okay because his parents were careless?

It's a shame it had to get to this point. The zoo was unprepared for situations such as this, and the parents of the child were downright careless. Still, this isn't killing for sport. Learn the difference.

Trigger happy police kill innocent black people on the regular and whites blame the victims, society and education but zoo keepers take down a gorilla posing a threat and the world goes crazy. I wonder why white people take animal life as more sacred than fellow humans? Why didn't they have these sentiments during the Trans Atlantic slave trade?

For those asking bout tranquilizer, according to the defense team of the zoo, it takes around 5 min for the tranq to take effect and if shot the gorilla becomes restless till it kicks in

Don't mind those illiterates saying nonsense. Shooting the gorrila with a tranquilizer might have even sent it into a rage.. Gorrillas are gentle animals but dangerous when provoked. This one is a silverback for that matter above all, an alpha male. It definitely would have killed that child.
