Many ladies are ignorant of there breast without knowing it's much delicate. As you may know Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in women, in most cases it occurs in women at the age of 50 and above knowing so much it makes some people's live miserable.


During you free time as a lady while checking yourself and you notice any lump or changes to the normal state of your breast then you should see a doctor as soon as possible. When breast cancer is diagnosed at an early period, there is a good chance of curing it.


The more advanced the cancer is the less chance that treatment will be. So, instant treatment can often slow the progress of the cancer.

The real question is "What is breast cancer"
Breast cancer is among the most common cancers suffered by women in the universe. According to records Most women develop it at over the age of 50 but younger women are sometimes affected.

Cancer of the breast can also develop in men, although this is common. It's about 8:1 in ratio of women to men. Breast cancer develops from the cancerous cells which develops in the lining of a duct in one of the breasts. There are some classifications of breast cancer which are important you should know. A cancerous tumour develops from one abnormal cell. The exact reason why a cell becomes cancerous is still unclear but It is thought that damages which occurs in certain genes in the cell can be the cause. This makes the cell abnormal and it will multiply rapidly despite being immature and non-functional.

Although breast cancer can develop for no specific reason, here are some certain risk factors which increase the chance of developing a breast cancer.

◆ Age. Here is a risk of developing breast cancer which roughly doubles for every 10 years of age. In Most cases develop in women over the age of 50.

◆ Location: The rate of breast cancer varies between countries, Because of climatic condition of the country. It may reflect to genetic or environmental factors especially diets we consume.

◆ Gene mutation. This suggests that if you have a close relatives who have or have had breast cancer. In particular, if they were aged under 50 when diagnosed. It might be gotten from the gene. Also excess of alcohol is a factor.

Symptoms of breast cancer

The first place that breast cancer usually spreads to is the lymph glands (the nodes) and in the armpit (axilla). If this occurs, you may develop a swelling or lump in an armpit. Sometimes the doctor may insert a needle with the help of a mammogram or ultrasound scan, in other to perform the check. Often a small operation is needed to obtain a biopsy sample.
The biopsy sample can confirm if the victim has breast cancer. Also the cells from a tumour found can be assessed and tested to determine their grade and receptor status.

This assessment is called STAGING OF THE CANCER. The reason of staging is to find out this various terms:
a. How large the tumour has grown.
b. Whether the cancer has spread to local lymph nodes in the armpit.
c. Whether the cancer has spread to other areas of the body.
Finding out the stages of the breast cancer, the grade of the cells and the receptor status of the cancer helps doctors to advice on the best treatment options.

Breast cancer Treatment which is considered as surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormonal therapy. Often the combination of two or more of these treatments is used.

This is often an option if the tumour is not too big. A lumpectomy (or wide local excision) is one type of operation where just the tumour and some surrounding breast tissue are removed. Though it's usual to have radiotherapy following this operation. This aims to kill any cancer cells which may have been left in the breast tissue.
Removal of the affected breast (mastectomy).
This process may be needed if there is a huge rounded tumour or a tumour in the middle of the breast. It is often possible to have breast re-constructive surgery to create a new breast following a mastectomy.

Hormonal therapy: Some types of breast cancer are affected by the female hormones oestrogen and progesterone.
These hormones stimulate the cancer cells to divide and multiply. Most oestrogen and progesterone are created by the ovaries.

The Treatments which is made is to reduce the level of these hormones, or prevent them from working. Hormone treatment works best in women with hormone-responsive breast cancer.
These are the Hormone treatments which includes:
• Oestrogen blockers.
• Aromatase inhibitors.
• Gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analogues.
• Chemotherapy: Chemotherapy is a treatment of cancer by using anti- cancer medicines which kill cancer cells, or stop them from multiplying. When chemotherapy is used in addition to surgery it is also known as adjuvant chemotherapy.


Preventions to breast cancer:
