Dani Alves, Barcelona defender and Brazil international has been confirmed to depart Barcelona this summer.

This confirmation was given by the Technical Secretary of the La Liga title winners, Robert Fernandez, during his end-of-season conference on Thursday.

Fernandez told Barcelona’s website that the 33-year-old’s exit was a personal decision that the club had to accept.

“Negotiations are not decided by one party alone. You also have to factor in the interests of the player and his agent,” he said.

The technical secretary also gave a hint that the Spanish giant would be exercising its option to recover Denis Suarez from Villarreal on July 1.

Alves joined Barcelona from Sevilla in 2008 and had made a total of 391 appearances and scored 21 goals for the Catalans.
