Medical records are usually private and should only be released by the patient and in rare cases where the courts decide. I have always said that those hailing sahara reporters investigative reporting when they were dishing out jist from a "reliable source" were encouraging impunity. It means someone or groups with real evil intent will not find it difficult to get information on the presidents and other sensitive institutions.

As the president of a country, Buhari's medical records should be available to the public. As the leader of the country, he is no longer a private citizen till he becomes an ex-president.

I see no legitimate reason to keep his health issues secret.

Presidents of other nations get ill too and unless it is a serious illness (or repeated illness) as we had with late President Yar'adu it is never headline news. Sometimes I just think you guys are desperate for a screaming headline. Perhaps because you are an online only medium.

My main issue with this report is that Buhari was on Thursday reported to have met Jonathan. On Friday he was reported to have met Obasanjo and the Anglican Bishops with pictures all over the newspapers. Today is Saturday! If he was at work in the last two days why is it a screaming headline that he is sick today - the day after. Did you guys sleep in Aso Rock.
