 For nearly a decade, legendary heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali prepared for his most famous fights at a training camp he built in Pennsylvania. The Deer Lake training camp, which remains untouched, is the very place where Ali trained himself for fights against Joe Frazier, George Foreman and Larry Holmes. Ali built the Deer Lake Training Camp in Deer Lake, Pennsylvania at a cost of $100,000. He opened the camp in 1972 and lived and trained there until the 1980's before finally selling the property to a friend in 1997.  Much of the facility is left unchanged, such as the gym, office and communal dinning areas.  The camp now hosts a Karate school and has bed and breakfast facilities. One cabin on the property is a mosque. The Deer Lake gym re-opened Saturday to the public following Ali's death Friday after a long battle with Parkinson's disease at the age of 74.
