There is one called shekere......you cut the rubber and put in small pieces of straw to form a bead like rubber and you mend the rubber back by knotting it.

Advantage? When you play it bounces on top the rubbers in proximity to it.

how I wish there was a state championship then, you would have jammed me, the undisputed and undefeated champion of the whole Edo State, right from primary school till early years in secondary.

It even turned to a business and money making venture for me and others, we would be hired by some people in other communities to come to theirs and help them win.

When u have loads of rubber bands then, the only way to keep it safe and in good condition is by making a "skipping rope" out of it.$

Either to tie it around ur waist to prevent theft or for the fun of it ( bringing in different colours to play, red,yellow,green)

There's a way they tie the rubber band to each other

My brother, that guy is not a street guy at all. Back then 1992, I use it to make long skipping ropes in 3 folds and use it to skip. Even paw-paw branch sticks, I can use it to make a sound good gun till date. There's one day we played one dirty trick on one busty girl in our compound with that fake gun, mehn if you see slaps we received from neighbours that day ehh, na D.I.E for us that day..
