People don't appreciate the good ones until they die. Muhammad Ali was hated by many white Americans for much of his life until he became frail and ill. When he was combative and forthright about American society he was despised by many. Stephen Keshi won a title, took the home-based Eagles to the finals of a tournament that they'd never taken seriously and was lauded by coaches across the globe for his methods and Nigerians were calling for his sacking at every point - even immediately after he won the African Nations Cup. Now fools are crying crocodile tears for this great man whom they failed to appreciate when he was alive. If GEJ died today the same idiots who voted for Buhari would be crying and lamenting his passing and their bad collective judgment. 1 Like |

Alibaba, when a coach is not doing well, he should be replaced, but life and death are two different things compare to career. |

MadCow1:It's not a senseless tweet... How people interpret it to mean 'They wanted him dead' baffles me. Yes, people advocated for his sacking as then Eagles coach despite his achievement with the team, they forgot so soon, he was no longer of value hence 'He had to die to be valued'... Coz most people paying glowing tributes now n eulogizing him were same people who called him all sorts of names back then n wanted him to be relieved of his job by the NFF, how he has now become the messiah of Nigerian football after his demise to same people, that's the message... @Topic.... I dn't understand how Nigerians critic anything and everything... @AliBABA knew exactly what he meant to say and the message he passed. Enough of the ITK syndrome, please. |

I have lost my respect for Alibaba. Only undeveloped minds would reason this way. How can a sane man at his age come on media to make such statement. Alibaba, they need to format your brain because you have lost it. How can people/NFA want Keshi dead? Alibaba should tell the world what killed Keshi. |

Realhommie: I beg to differ.. Football was business to Keshi, It was a job that he was paid to do. When he delivered, we all cheered, when he started to falter, we all boo'd. That does not mean we hated him or wanted him dead, #Fact.. His achievements were his achievements. We can never take that away from him, but you don't expect us to keep him on the job and keep paying him to not deliver the Goods.. That's just bad business and does not work like that anywhere in the world. Now regarding his personal life (which life and death is covered under), we all can pay our respects to him weather he is celebrating life or mourning death. We will recall his achievements and downplay his failures because that's how life works. Jose Mourinho won the EPL one season and the next they were almost in relegation. The fans clamored for him to be removed.. But I bet you that next season, when Manchester United faces Chelsea or vice versa, Stamford Bridge will be on their feet cheering loudly when Mourinho walks into the Stadium.. Its Business, not personal, Don't muddle those lines. 1 Like |

Alibaba, i Wonder how you made money..because i know you need to have sense to make money..but this this one said should be from someone without sense .. work and Death are not same thing coaching job is linked to performance ...if you know perform , you are sacked..and someone else will take your place.. have you ever heard where a coach refused to take a job because his friend is the one sacked ? nothing like that o... MOURINHO was courting Van gal job whilst the latter was still in charge of MANU ..does it mean he Wish Van-gal dead? No so please no link both |

Re: Alibaba: People Who Wanted Keshi Fired Now Paying Tribute by Kasamadupe1: 3:43pm On Jun 08, 2016 |
The comments is quite immature. What has mourning got to do with sack. The fact that u fire someone doesn't take away the sensitivity of losing the person and pay last respect to the dead. So if u fired your staff for watever reason and he dies u will be jubilation. Ali baba needs to be more objective in his comments |

Re: Alibaba: People Who Wanted Keshi Fired Now Paying Tribute by histemple: 4:50pm On Jun 08, 2016 |
That we wanted Keshi to leave the super Eagles was because of his consistent poor results and some personal issues with most of our players. It does not mean that we wished him death. Keshi is a legend and we recognize him as such but even if he resurrects, lovers of Nigerian football won't still want him near the super Eagles. Keshi was a good coach but had bad human management skills. |
