It's nerver late to invest, just before you take that loan,I nhope it's not for any pp or ipo or poopoo

Define your objective of wnting to invest with loans, identify which stocks you want to invest in,set your exit price (which should be reasonably above twice your brokers fees plus the purchase price plus the borrowed capital plus the interest/charges on it)
By and large,be cautious

Can I get twice the borrowed capital + etc? Getting a little confused,
Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by mcsamson1(m): 12:12pm On Mar 06, 2008
does anyone know the last time GTB did PO
Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by Kashif(m): 12:13pm On Mar 06, 2008
One more thing, I am not in any way, going for I/PO's. I have never. Thanks again.
Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by invisible2(m): 12:16pm On Mar 06, 2008
GTB still has some upward moves to make, same with Intercont. As they will close Feb, peeps waiting for goodies will be reluctant to sell, so the price may likely see 45+ before weakening. But for now, there may not even be rumors, only positioning going on- never be too late for the party!
Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by mcsamson1(m): 12:21pm On Mar 06, 2008
thanks invisible. i will surely wait and hold on to my GTB. I HOPE SOMETHING GOOD COMES OUT.

Of course you can,but who can tell?At least we,ve seen stocks that recorded over 200% appreciation in value from their mostly last year prices (that'll be more than twice the capital). But no begin get long throat sha cos in most one cannot really tell how far a particular stock may rise or FALL;fundamentals or no fundamentals. So dont be too ambitious, after following the steps in my last post, keep your fingers crossed(so long as na sound stock you buy ooo),

In the final analysis, the call is yours
so CAVEAT EMPTOR

@ Crazy T

I also have UTC and will sell whenever I need the money.
I tend to buy shares that I will be happy to keep long term.
Can't tell you if there is much more upside to UTC so you can do like me, if you like - like Ike used to say to Mike J when he was a kid.

Samstone4 cool cool cool

the NSE website says the market has closed for the day. did they start trading early today, anyone know whats up?

@ beginner

on fidelity, if u believe in reading charts, the price hasn't been trending much in the last couple of months but the indicators interestingly are not looking bad re: RSI, MACD and MACD Histogram.

it may still see some upside dare i say. (u are looking to reach ur exit point abi? grin)

Post office rentals is like N1300 a year, apart from the initial N2400 you pay first time you subscribe and yes so far, nothing have been stolen from my mail box.

You are welcome, it's always good to pause and LISTEN.

Looks like the bears are showing their faces a little, and as usual teh "fundamentaless" stocks (oyinbo) are bearing the brunt first.

ojukokoro lo n worry e (na longer throat dey worry u  grin)

u obviously didnt set an exit point on a stock i am almost certain u bought for CICO puposes (abi i lie?  grin).

have u noticed it is slowly getting harder to make even the proverbial promised land of 25% lately? the market is overbloated and u are wondering if u should sell after 35% profit post charges? ole ole ole!!!  grin  cheesy. You know i am only kidding i hope. i don't mean to be disrespectful at all.

seriously, no one can ever predict the market, it is fickle and is promiscous. ie she is not like a faithful wife, she(the NSE) will leave u at the exact time u think all is going well with your relationship with her.
For all u know the same UTC could lose 20-30% of its value in the next few weeks, especially if this rise has been manufactured.

Once u've hit a comfortable target, sell and move on, close your eyes to any further gain, u don chop your own, that way u defeat that feeling in your gut called GREED aka the green eyed monster.

just my opinion though but what do i know.

Omo cool down now this your hand too much o jare  grin DJ and Yemi go chop now. You come turn me to "wonbiliki wobia"

I thought you witness the signing of the treaty by FO2 that CICO is 0-3months and anything inbetween.
Na 3 weeks ago I buy the thing and e don skyrocket.

Thank God for a newly discovered theory sha i.e. I have noticed that anytime my instinct tells me to sell a stock and ask opinion about it here on Nairaland, that same day the stock will starts depreciating. UTC proved it today.

So to whom it may concern 320kg UTC for sell going! going!! GONE sold to the man in the centre with Man U T-shirt  grin grin grin

I issued sale mandate for my UBA and FCMB, I don tire for now, I'll get back in them later, for now, even if the money earns 25% it'll be way better than what they've earned me the past 3mths, -5% grin

Opened mine a couple of years ago, and so far so good. It's convenient
and safe so far. You also get post a lot quicker than residential addresses.

mastermove:

well I put in sell order for japaul today kind of fed up of seeing profits go

Well, it is your money but I think this is not the right time to sell Japaul as you can deduce from all my posts yesterday. It has already shed some weight and will probably have a brief upside. That is the time to sell to minimize your loss or increase your profit.

My take. Caveat Emptor.
