I visited kibera slums sometime ago.....in fact I was shocked at how large the place is and how bad the living standards are. ironically, one would think it's only extremely poor people who live there....well not in Kenya! some well to do people live there also. in fact the government put in place a resettlement project....built houses with good amenities just across the kibera slums......trust Africans, they go to government, get allocations in the resettlement area and rather than move out of the slum to the allocated apartment, they turn around and rent out the apartments and remain in the slums!! the resettlement plan has so far failed due to this reason.

There is no Shomolu in Ikeja.

The Shomolu shown in the photograph is Ilaje, Bariga.

It's jst because dis site is out for Kenyans, if not der are equally d same amount of slums in lagos. Infact 50% of pple livin in lagos live in slums. Lagos & slums R like MTN, evrywer u go. Afonjas will not agree tho

Yes, it is. It is industrial population. Signifying the massive industrialisation of the area. None of the slums in Kenya, Lagos, India not even the largest slum in world, Mexico topped the list of the most populated. It is Onitsha that is far more developed and cleaner than them all.

The only problem with SE is bad road, we don't do slums. Even Aba that has the worst roads in the entire SE doesn't have any slum comparable with the smallest slum in Lagos. I once saw a report that says that any child born in the SE have the highest probability of not being born into a slum.

He is quite right, I felt the same way when I saw the shomolu part, but you would notice he said Ikeja division(even though, I don't know what that means) and a search on Shomolu on Wikipedia also brought the same Ikeja division

My own issue is why do you have Shomolu on the list when the main area you are talking about is Ilaje, but then you still feature the Ilaje on the list...

But am still annoyed by the government's incompetency. What does it take to construct proper sewage and water supply, roads and low income houses? More of these should be shown so that the government government can stop sleeping on its job.
