tiger is not economical one bit, any generator that mixes fuel an oil is a useless generator because the carbon build up affect everything on the engine, pistion, rings, crank shaft. so it always require constant servicing and sometimes the current is not stable and can easily destroy your flat screen tv. but sumec na carry go. excellent engine

i have had a lot of experience on tiger engine that if am given one as a gift I rather sell it than use it. when using a tiger engine u will become friends with gen repairers, because u will always be visiting them carrying ur engine up an down.

Sumec firman is my option,I've been using it for like three years now,outside from heavy appliances like refrigerator,electric iron and so on, it can be able to carry your lighting point, fan,T.V set and so on perfectly..... Feul efficiency is very low,a 4-5liters can last up to 12-16hrs on a stretch..... With 1.5k,can be used to maintain the gen base on your negotiation with your service man.

i remember wen we were using tiger in our home,my dad nearly burnt the gen becos of its problem,imagine wia u buy some tin wt ur own money nd the tin wnt give u high BP,after servicing it on geting home it wont start,infact dat tiger gen cn wahala fr africa. Bt since we switched to sumec w've been wahala free from generator,sumec is jst too good,reliable nd strong. Jst keep changing the engine oil every two weeks nd it will give u wat u wnt(use gud engine oil)#pls dnt mind my english.

Been using my sumec firman everyday for 1 year 2 months now...no complain...only change oil once a month...Dats all....its a 15 litre petrol engine....2500kva
....I use my fridge all nite till 7am.....its really worth it...fuel economy is superb...15 litres....it works for me on 15 litres on complete 20hrs. ..so I went for a bigger sumec firman to power my a/c....8kva....in fact ....Make sure u buy original sumec firman....I have never done a major work on both gens. ..only oil change monthly....

In the choice of Generators, some factors are considered. The Capacity- KVA or VA, this will depend on what you want to power.
2nd is your Financial capabilities.

I have been using Sumec Furman 2900- which has a Power output of 2.2KVA since Jan Last year & no Technician has come near my House.
The secret is prompt periodic Maintenance

Make sure the name is engraved on the Tank & not sticker when you go to buy.
Sumec Firman is always the Costliest apart from Honda in their various capacity ranges.

Can one get a noiseless Sumec Fireman? I bought the 7KVA which they claimed it's semi-silent for N230,000 but the noise is something else

if u didn't attend secondary school, at least primary schools integrated science subject should tell u that 220 is the voltage in VOLTS. while unit for power is WATTS. therefore 220 cannot be power output.

I have used both b4, using Sumec for more than a year now, no issue at all

My brother original tiger aka I better pass my nebor is the best thing that has happened to mankind. I was told govt barned it and as a result is now very expensive like 28k for the original which is also called big coil. Is fuel economical very cheap parts and very cheap to service etc. The other gen u re talking about is full of fakes

Honda is the iPhone of household generators , that's all I can say .


If you have the money , get your self HONDA . Mine is 3 years now , apart from changing the oil and spark plug I have not done any core repair on it . Fuel consumption is moderate and it has this stable voltage supply compare to other gen . Your light saving bulb will last with Honda . Let me stop before you think Honda pay me to tell you this .
