Their grouse, it was learnt, is over the non-payment of what they termed their allowances, which amounted to N1.2 billion. The protesting workers must be sick. The era where some federal workers in some powerful ministries get illegal allowances is over. All allowances not captured in the appropriation act or recognized by extant regulations is illegal and should not be paid. 52 Likes 6 Shares |

Realdeals: Many such an official, upon winning a foothold in City Hall, thinks only of his own cohorts, and his own gain. So it is not surprising that public affairs grow stagnant. Truly, cannot fathom such minds! I can think of nothing so satisfying as doing public good in as many ways as an official can. Think, for an instant, as to just what a city is. As I said long ago, it is not an array of buildings, parks and fountains. No. A city is a living thing! It is, actually, human;for it is a group of humanity growing up in daily contact; and if officials adopt as a slogan, “all I can do,” and not “all I can grab,” only its suburban boundary can limit its growth. Ernest Vincent Wright, Gadsby Nothing more to add. Bad habits die hard. Go to any ministry in this country probably less than 20% of those employed have something to do . The rest idle away and at the end of the month, pick up a salary. The only reason you can give for keeping them is the politicians will waste and/or steal any savings gained from mass retrenchment. 19 Likes 1 Share |

The equally accused Adeosun of collecting her own allowances without any consideration for theirs. One of such allowances, they alleged, was the N30 million for house rent annually. They equally said she was high handed Hahaha. N30 million house rent, and that's just rent, una never see her other allowances. The hypocrisy of fighting corruption . 12 Likes 1 Share |
