the problem is that if the US ban porn, other countries in Europe would fill the vacuum created by the exit of US producers. Back to square one.
Its also easier to quit porn than prostitution. Prostitution is worse. Porn stars have a short career run. Most would retire in 3 years or less, but prostitution is a life long career where it's even passed on to children when they become of age.

The evidences would only be tendered in court. In the US, usually before they make allegations. They would have gathered rock solid evidence evrn if it means using undercover detectives. The girl reported, supervisor\manager calls police. Room is bugged with mics and pin-hole cameras. An unrepentant sex predator would 99% of the time still make inappropriate moves thinking the girl would give in to pressure. simple as abc. There would also be cctv lined along corridors and hallway.

It's possible that the affected lawmakers possessed diplomatic passports, which virtually shielded them from arrest. Hence, the non-action on the part of the Cleveland PD.

Or, as we now know, the US ambassador and the State Dept had enough influence on the local police authorities/District Attorney not to press criminal charges on the 3 men in the interest of maintaining diplomatic decorum. The revocation of their visas was deemed as a 'middle ground' punishment.

But such video evidence would be in admissible if the hotel installed cameras in the room. That would be an obvious breach of privacy.
But if there were cameras in the hallway that caught Mr Gololo grabbing the housekeeper at the entrance, or just in front of his room, then such a video would be admissible evidence.
