A Very Short Story: Why David Went To Goliath With Stones. by GospelNaija: 1:46pm On Jun 26, 2016 |
Little David grew up reading comics of his favourite superheroes. He learnt of how the Water-Bender Moses, parted the Red Sea. He saw flicks of Joshua the Sun-Bender making the sun stand still. His favourite was Samson, the Iron-Bender. He had stickers and posters of Jericho's Wall-Benders, Gideon's 300, and all the other Benders that came before him. Little wonder he didn't see the giant in his day as a big deal. As a matter of fact, David felt belittled to be given one man as his test, when his mentors were given natural disasters. You can see why he went with stones like he was gonna chase a stray dog away. Should we call David the Goliath-Bender or Stone-Bender? There's a story in this folk song from Prince Goke Bajowa. It's gonna be my favourite for a while. It's titled IWO KO LO DAMI (David & Goliath).
