Good morning Ujsizzle, forgive me for having to call you out this early in the day, it's just that anti-spambot has unjustly banned me in the TV section just because I posted the name of a website (I'm aware monikers get banned for posting links or something similar and that's why I didn't add .com after the website's name). i am a computer eng. Student, in programming its BEMDAS, not BEDMAS, it can also be PEMDAS, because paranthesis and bracket are same, moreover the curly parenthesis is mostly used during programming.

PEDMAS and BODMAS give the same result. With your example, BODMAS also gives 7. In BODMAS, division has higher rank than multiplication

6-1x0+2÷2
= 6-1x0+(2÷2)
= 6-(1x0)+1
= 6-0+1 = 7

In both BODMAS and PEDMAS, division and multiplication belong to the same class so it doesn't matter which comes first. Same also with addition and subtraction, they both belong to the same class so it doesnt matter which comes first.

@Op,
BODMAS and PEDMAS or PEMDAS are basically the same thing. If you apply them correctly you get the exact same result all the time.

Yes it's true kinda, saw that for the first time preparing for GRE, truth is I can say BODMAS is just elementary /basic mathematics while PEMDAS is advanced mathematics... IMO

pemdas is used in American education system while bodmas is used in British education system....
bit the two r the same..don't get it twisted ma cool

The rule still remains BODMAS. Parentheses and brackets are used interchangeably.
Of, Division and Multiplication are both Commutative and Associative. Same can be said for Exponent, Division and Multiplication

while waiting for u, i think u should knw that Division and Multiplication have equal precedence and the tie breaker being execution from left to right

You really never knew your maths well.
USING PEMDAS 6-1x0+2÷2
= 6-0+2÷2 after simplifying your MULTIPLICATION First,
= 6-0+1 after simplifying your DIVISION
= 6+1 after simplifying your ADDITION
= 7
USING BODMAS 6-1x0+2÷2
= 6-1x0+1 after simplifying your DIVISION FIRST,
= 6-0+1 after simplifying your MULTIPLICATION
= 6-1 after simplifying your ADDITION
= 7

PEMDAS = BODMAS

In programming I was taught PEMDAS while in maths I know of it as BODMAS.

Computer uses PEMDAS for it calculations.

PEMDAS and BODMAS are actually mathematically equivalent.

Using both formulae will give you 7 as your answer unless when using BODMAS you inputed an imaginary "of" which isn't there.
Divide 2 by 2 gives you 1. Multiply 1 and 0 gives you 0. You have 6-0+1= 7

For your info 3^4 = 3x3x3x3 while
3 of 4 = 3x4

12÷6×2=4 (PEDMAS or BODMAS)

Even with PEMDAS
Here, 12÷6×2

Taking multiplication first: ÷6x2 which is same x 2÷6 = x 1/3

12x 1/3 = 4
