Because when playing hd videos with it offline, it always reduces the quality. I prefer mx player.

You need a better phone. VLC doesn't reduce the quality of videos one bit. I have full 1080p videos of 4gb and above that I watch with VLC on my phone and tablet and there's no frame drop. MX player is also a solid media player but ever since it started having some audio codec issues I stopped using it. VLC is da BOMB.

Good evening bro please, I downloaded a video recently with my phone's uc browser, but when I transfered it to my laptop, it shows me that it is an MS Dos file and wasn't able to watch it with vlc/windows media player. I can only use uc Brower player to watch it on my phone. Do you have any idea on how I can get it to play on laptop.

What format is the video. U can check it by right clicking and then properties. Vlc can play almost all video formats.

It is in MS DOS format. Vlc can't even detect it.

go to your file manager, locate the file and rename it with the file extension ending with dot mp4.

Used vlc on my previous android device..... stopped using it after experiencing multiple sudden force closed issues..... switched to a new android device and installed Mx player, was enjoying it till i experienced codec issues.... had to go back to vlc..... it has been a breath of fresh air ever since. im actually happy im using vlc again. smooth, no longer buggy like on my previous device, no framerate drops, Plays media files as it is....
