The poll was conducted by International Republican Institue (IRI) from the US, a rightwing US party which ordinarily would support the likes of pdp in Nigeria.

The poll is much more independent than that Ngozi Okonjo Iwela, pdp partisan polling outfit otherwise known as NOI polls
