The National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Makurdi, Benue State has upheld the victory of former Senate President, Senator David Mark in the Benue South senatorial elections.

The tribunal also struck out the petition filed by All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Mr Daniel Onjeh challenging Mark’s victory.

In reaching the decision, the tribunal held that Onjeh did not file his petition within the 21 days stipulated by law.

Meanwhile, Onjeh has reacted to the judgment saying that he will appeal the tribunal’s decision.

Comrade Onjeh, personally I want to say u have tried and u have made a name for urself in d 2015 election. U have shown or proved that u r not a push over tho, due to d fact dat u found urself in d accidental ruling party (APC). Sen. Mark still convincingly defeated u despite d power dat be. Accept d defeat in good faith, u gave Sen. Mark a run for his money and, is quite commendable. Comrade Onjeh, I advise u to throw in d towel and allow Sen. Mark to finish his tenure while u get ur acts together against 2019. This is not d end of d world for u, for d fact dat u are still young. Remember, "he who fight and run away live to fight another day" a word is enough for d wise.
