Good Day Folks, How's it going folks?

One of my cars Precisely a Peugeot 307 CC has developed issues which have really given me though times. It has a 1.6 litre engine. I recently changed the engine due to the damage it sustained after being swallowed by the muddy waters of the very bad port Harcourt to Aba very close to the imo river border. When we changed the engine we started testing the new one . The engine was not steaming properly, when you engage in the first gear, the machine would make shooting sounds like an actual gun is being fired. I was advised to change the fuel pump and all injector nozzles, I did that and the condition Improved, we took a test drive 5minutes into the drive , it returned back to status quo I.e it stopped accelerating, the engine wasn't picking and when it finally picks it works fine on high gears only once the car is brought to a stop and I engage it on the first gear to move , it doesn't pick or accelerate. I was advised to clean The plugs if possible, change it. We got plugs from another Peugeot that was steaming well and firing well and generally in other, my car conditions improved. Greatly but after about 20minutes of driving it, it starts failing to pick and also the car brings out smoke that's quite harsh, pepperish and hurtful to my eyes.

Please all the lovers of exotic peugeot lions , wouldn't like one of its own to be sick and not be able to Roar well,

Please advice and suggest solutions please!!!

Sounds like your engine is misfiring, and backfiring. The smoke you describe, that stings the eyes, would suggest a fuelling problem. The engine is running super rich, which would make the car a slug to drive at lower rpm. At higher rpm, it'll be easier to drive.

The spark plugs are being constantly fouled by gasoline.

You've probably got a massive vacuum leak somewhere. I would advice the injectors, coolant temperature sensor, and crank / cam position sensors off your old engine are used. I take it, the replacement engine is the same, as the engine that came out?

A scan is important, hopefully, the OBDII port is still active.

Once everything is fixed, I would suggest new spark plugs, of the correct grade for the replacement engine are fitted.
