Li Zuming, a pig farmer from Shucheng county, east China’s
Anhui Province, bid a tearful farewell to his 6,000 pigs as
heavy rains forced him to leave his farm and surrender his
livestock to the flood waters. The pigs had already stood in
the flood water for 20 hours and would soon be immersed,
when the water level had been continuing to rise. Days of
torrential rain has wreaked havoc across the wide southern
regions in China. As floods swamped towns and villages,
millions of people were forced to leave their homes.
