I've been filling forms and applications online, sometimes it takes me more than one hour to get the date format correctly.
I will keep submitting the form, the incoming response will be Null and Void.


So, guys pls enlighten me on the correct date format, examples are below :-


Example 1.
01-May-2016 or 01/May/2016 = 01-05-2016 or 01/05/2016


Example 2.
May-01-2016 or May/01/2016= 05-01-2016 or 05/01/2016


pls look at the two examples and tell me the most used format in an online representation.

honestly, this has cost me some serious set backs in filling out forms and applications online.

It depends on the specific country, Countries like US and Philippines use mm/dd/yyyy format which is month first, then day followed by the year. which means the day 30th of march 2021 will be written as 3/30/2021 in the United State.

Nigeria uses the dd/mm/yyyy format which means the above date will be will written as 30/3/2021.
Also remember that When writing formal letters do not use the slash sign (/) or (-) but write it fully as 30th march, 2021.
