Re: All About The Au Natural! by Gamine(f): 10:28pm On Sep 13, 2009 |
@Africhika. Yup its for the face, Plantain has anti-aging properties, Collagen added with honey it helps tone it and evens out the color of the skin. |

Gamine: How do you make it? Do u leave it on or wash it off? oh and the olive oil thing, how do I steam my face? lol |
Re: All About The Au Natural! by Gamine(f): 2:40pm On Sep 14, 2009 |
Umhh, The plantain has to be ovaaa ripe. put it in a blender, make sure its smooooooth, if not ur gonna have clumps of stuff if u use it in ur hair too, The add the honey, blend it all. Then apply, leave for as long as u can, then rinse off. As for steaming ur face, put very hot water in a bowl and just let the steam hit ur face with a towel over ur head. |

gamine, do u think the plantain stuff is more effective than store-bought creams? |
Re: All About The Au Natural! by Nobody: 5:50pm On Sep 15, 2009 |
Gamine: Lol. |
Re: All About The Au Natural! by Gamine(f): 8:39pm On Sep 15, 2009 |
@Africhika Natural stuff will always be more effective but the thing is, we wont always have access to them, or the time to prepare them, hence the store. i mean like, olive oil. .i dont go looking for olive's to press, i buy what they sell in the bottle. i guess the key is to maintain some balance, and avoid some plenty chemicals. You could check online for stocked (store) creams, oils, lotions which are as natural as possible and also certain chemicals to avoid. |

omonija, be sure to GO EASY ON THE TEA TREA OIL!!! i love it but can definitely dry out ur skin. use very little and not too often. maybe like 3 times a week. it's a very potent oil. |
Re: All About The Au Natural! by dbaby3(f): 3:57am On Sep 18, 2009 |
I would love to chop my hair off,and go au natural cos putting a perm breaks my hair, but am kinda skeptical cos of my petite size. |
Re: All About The Au Natural! by omonija1(f): 6:02am On Sep 18, 2009 |
@GAMINE Yes, I have shea butter already. I use that on my skin (not face) and hair as well. Why dont you take some multivitamins? Yea I'm trying. Its hard to eat healthy as a nigerian and a food lover! @africhika, I noticed. That thing strong o, lol and the smell?? omg. Im using it less often now. |

omonaija, we are the exact same size, 5'4 120lbs. d-baby, don't worry about being petite. your small size will make you look even better with short hair! go for it |

Re: All About The Au Natural! by dbaby3(f): 2:01am On Sep 22, 2009 |
ok,dont be like me cos am really wanting to cut it all off. How long is ur hair? if its pretty long,do not try to cut it all off cos u av invested so much time into it. |
Re: All About The Au Natural! by Gamine(f): 2:07am On Sep 22, 2009 |
i transitioned from april last year, my hair was totally natural by february this year. the growth is really slow >_< lol.
|
Re: All About The Au Natural! by dbaby3(f): 2:11am On Sep 22, 2009 |
Wow it looks healthy, and its of good length considering the fact that u transitioned less than a yr ago.Give it time even though the growing process is slow. |
Re: All About The Au Natural! by Gamine(f): 2:18am On Sep 22, 2009 |
i have uneven growth at the back. but im trying to convince myself not to cut it, until it gets to an 'ok' length, where i just trim it all to the same length. But you know what, i have no desire to put in a relaxer, i cant even bear the thought! god no! lol |
Re: All About The Au Natural! by dbaby3(f): 2:32am On Sep 22, 2009 |
Then that will work. I tire for relaxers too. |
