different type of propulsion mechanism for NAG ATGM AND HELINA ATGM

wonder why the NAG had four nozzle configuration and the HELINA got a single nozzle

Re: Technical Discussions On International Military Equipments Doctrines Tactics Etc by Nobody: 5:46pm On Jul 26, 2017
QRSAM

it has a dual-thrust propulsion system

what is interesting is the plume from the exhaust

it indicates employment of 4 vectored thrust nozzles

this will make it a highly maneuverable SAM able to pull high G loads

Surely India mustn't sway to the western privacy activists..However my point is "Private companies want profit..would they turn be greedy enough to sell these things to the bad guys"

Isn't one a beam riding missile the nozzles divert away smoke from the sensor at back of the missile?

no both use imaging infrared (IIR) seekers.

i have a suspicion that those nozzles r located at the mid body due to the fact that the booster is arranged ahead of the sustainer in the NAG atgm

it talks about data collection in the order of petabytes shocked shocked shocked

1 petabyte PB = 1000 TB = 1000000 GB

(which is a very huge amount given it will be handled at a single instant )

recently DRDO successfully trialed a new PGM

the Precision Guided High Speed Low Drag (PGHSLD) 500kg aerial bomb was tested from SU30 MKI

PGHSLD mid-course guidance is by fiber optic gyro based GPS-INS module ( GPS receivers + inertial navigation system ) with laser homing in terminal phase

the terminal seeker used is a semi active laser(SAL) seeker mounted on a gimbal assembly

CEP <30M using only GPS-INS

CEP <3m using SAL seeker in terminal phase

guidance is dual, GPS/INS + SAL and therefor is immune to jamming

tail unit comprises of
1.4 separately actuated control surfaces
2.GPS-INS module
3.GPS receivers
4.flight control unit

nose unit comprises of.
1.fixed control surfaces
2.GPS receivers
3.gimballed SAL seeker

it is presently intended for use from SU30 MKI and LCA

L&T a private Indian company Adamya AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle)

It's unique in its ability to be launched from the torpedo tube of a submarine.

The vehicle has a modular design and can be configured with different depth rated shells eliminating the need to pressure-proof the internal electronic system. It's subsystems can be accessed externally for rapid diagnostics and turnaround servicing.

The vehicle, batteries and internals can be taken apart and packaged into air-ship-able sections, allowing the vehicle to be swiftly deployed in remote areas.

The Adamya navigates with real time position accuracy. It has a velocity logger, an inertial navigation system with GPS update. It looks ahead using a Forward Looking Sonar (FLS) and a Under Water camera.

The 850-kg AUV with a diameter of 533-mm and length of 5700-mm is powered by Lithium-polymer batteries with enough charge to keep it going for 8-hr at 4 kts. Two contra-rotating propellers give the Adamya a top speed of 6-kt, and a cruise speed of 4-kts. The vehicle is also capable of hovering.

The vehicle communicates with its control platform using RF, acoustic or Ethernet via attached cable.
