I have treated many patients who believed they inherited dental caries from their parents because their parents ve dental issues or ve extracted several teeth.
Dental caries/infections re not inherited
There are 4 factors responsible for dental caries
Susceptible Tooth
Substrate (sugary foods)
Time
Bacteria
Any human with teeth is prone to dental infection. Everyone has to make conscious effort to ensure all the factors listed above are never complete at any particular point in a person's mouth.
We inherited Bacteria from our mothers. No human/human mouth exists without bacteria. That's why Dentists recommend you brush twice daily at home and scale twice a year in a clinic. Sugar (glucose/sucrose) consumed act as food for the bacteria to convert to acid which makes the hole in a tooth. The longer the bacteria produces the acid the more damage caused



Worm exists in tooth hole (cavity)
No worm exists in the mouth



"Touch and Go" kills the worm.
It is a chemical that causes chemical burn in the mouth. It doesn't solve the underlying problem



Extraction is bad
