Envy is one of the bad characteristics of man that can never be eliminated from the world so far human being is concerned, but it can be eliminated on individual basis.

Trying to eliminate envy is just as hard as trying to eliminate robbery from the world.

Envy can as well be called jealousy and therefore can be defined as the hatred, enmity, resentful desire or to feel displeasure towards someone for their good fortune or possessions.

Envy is a Peaceful Killer and should not be introduced to the family.

What Causes Envy?

Greediness:

This can be as a result of selfishness or excessive desire for more than is needed or deserved mostly in money, wealth, food or other possessions. When someone, neighbor, friend or even foe possesses more than the greedy one, then envy takes place. This brings about unwanted competition that does not help to the growth of the family. It should not be introduced to the family.
