There is an unfortunate trend in christendom today in which the acceptance of a person by God and his/her chances of getting saved is linked to either the G.O of the individual's christian denomination or his or her lineage. Inconceiveable as it may sound, there are many folks who rely on their parents' religious piety to presume that they would inevitably be saved.

The truth, however is that, if the scriptures can be trusted and if Indeed the God of heaven and earth is not a liar (Numbers 23:19), every one of us will be answerable for our individual deeds before the judgment throne of the Almighty. Your parent's righteousness will not deliver you neither will their unrighteousness be the reason you didn't make it.

In the light of this, it is expedient that we all "take our destinies into our hands" by studying the scriptures for ourselves and getting to hear God directly without any intermediary. Don't just follow what anyone says no matter how highly placed in your church he/she may be. Cross-check with your bible and ask the Holy Spirit to guide and He will.

"Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it (an unrighteous city), they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord God" (Ezekiel 14:14)
