The youth and social media can not be separated and PDP needs both to win elections. The Online Directorate is supposed to take care of that. PDP should please do the needful |

Didn't the PDP guys say and I quote "elections are not won on social media"?
The problem y'all have is not that you dont have enough youths handling your social media business, it is that the yoots handling the busines are really unprofessional and to be frank, not doing a good job.
Go on Twitter, the top PDP yoots are busy stroking the embers of ethno-religiois hatred and threatening people with violence.
Seriously, you have yoots like Deji Deyanju, DOluwasegun, Nedunaija, Ohimai (he ssid he resigned but yeah right) and the likes spewing bile everyday and you think you can win any poly religious or poly tribal election?
Did you guys forget how Former Vicer President Sambo said Vice President is a pastor and was going to "christianize" the country?
With every appointment the president makes, the same PDP yoots on social media go on a tribe seeking mission or a religion seeking mission and that goes on forever.
When have you seen someone like Ayourb or Jagbros talk about tribe or religion?
The problem is not the lack of youths, the problem is that the youths have turned into yoots and are too busy forming think tanks to use to spew bile.
You said the APC won because they engaged the youths more, but does the APC even have a youth wing or office? Have you seen or heard of such? But they were able to present their case with ease and sway voters.
The problem is not that no youth is involved in the decision process, it is that the youths are not potraying the party in good light. Heck, look at Bint Moshood, Muslim lady and able to hold her own and appeal to the young female Muslims, who does the PDP have?
What is the PDP's response to Ayourb? What is the response to Jagbros? None. Just a bunch of people spewing hate upandan social media.

Quite alright, you have stated the obvious problems with the PDP! I actually think you failed to do two things; Mention those who represent the PDP in a good light e.g @Demolarewaju @LadiSpeaks @Stakyf @Shrinkchido @TaiwoTobo @PortieCarthy and a host of them including females doing greatly and are not towing the religious lines. Two, You also failed to appreciate the fact that young people in the party have wisened up and are now pursuing a common front which is the creation of the PDP Online Directorate! I am sure the Nairaland people are also well carried along as I have not seen erunz, tonyebarcanista, SirWahl1 and a host of them come here to deny knowledge of this move. You need to support their quest to internally reform their party by taking this to the front page and allow everyone see it and join the cause too. |

Please, do help push to FP to allow more engagement. This is where our views diverge. You seem to think there is a need for a recognized social media arm. I think not. People should be individual volunteers of their parties and be able to sell the ideals of that party at any point without being members or bejng part of any organogram. If these individuals can't do this independently, they will fail if they are official as that will just mean the party is officially getting involved in filth. 4 Likes |
