Since 1999 when Nigeria ushered in a democratic government under the administration of then president Obasanjo,the whole world heave a sigh of relief that the giant of Africa is on the part of unprecedented development. After Obasanjo came Yar'adua and the citizens hope he will do better than obasanjo but that never came to light after his death.

The nigeria citizens still have hope in the person of Jonathan when he came on board. But painfully the aspirations of nigerians for good governance never saw the light of day under his administration. Then came Buhari and nigerians saw the ray of hope,since he is from a different party after the country has been under the watch of the PDP for 16 good years. But just 1 year down the line of his administration,nigerians are groaning under the severe economic crisis that has never been witnessed in the history of nigeria since she gain her independece in 1960.

What is the cause of Nigeria failure? The failure of nigeria is her overdependence on crude oil to the detriment of other important minerals like coal,bitumen and cash crops like cocoa,oil palm e.t.c.

What are the solutions to make Nigeria great despite her current economic situation you ask? Nigeria will be on her way to economic prosperity if the current leadership under Buhari pursue an Agrarian economy that is less dependent on crude oil. Look at USA,JAPAN,SINGAPORE,BRITAIN and CHINA. These are countries that are prospering economically in the absence of oil. Crude oil should not be what define the existence of Nigeria,she can do better.
