The leading militant group operating in the oil rich region of southern Nigeria, the Niger Delta Avengers on Thursday denied report that the Federal Government is talking to Niger Delta militants through oil companies and law-enforcement agencies to find a lasting solution to insecurity in the region.

The militant group that has claimed responsibility for blowing several pipelines and oil wells while reacting to the report attributed to President Muhammadu Buhari through their spokesperson Brig-Gen Mudoch Agbinibo said they are not aware of any peace talk. “Our attention has been drawn to media report that the President is in touch with Niger Delta agitators including the Niger Delta Avengers but the truth is that we are not aware of any peace talk”, Agbinibo said.
