I recently read this article at http://www.naijastique.com/blog/view/id_13/title_The-Sanitization-of-Banking-in-Nigeria-A-Great/

Nigerians should answer a few questions in connection with the spate of actions by the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi; are Nigerian Bankers on trial Innocent or is Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi Is Wrong on his sanitization drive?

And while at it, all Nigerians should also endeavor to answer a few more questions regarding the pandemic of corruption. Who should fight corruption in Nigeria and how? Who exactly qualifies to fight corruption neutrally and freely, without having to face fluid charges of selective prosecution, witch-hunting and vindictiveness or economic- political intimidations of targeted enemies; sectionalism, regionalism and nepotism etc? Who?

The question is what kind of person do Naija's want to lift Nigeria out of the all our ills?

1. The choices available to us where never only to either do nothing or to create an economic upheveal.

2. The office of the CBN Governor is never a place for marxists.

3. Corruption should be fought by all citizens but people in high places must put the National interest at heart in anything they do.

The release of El-Magrehi from a Scottish Prison is not the most morally sound thing to do but the authorities of UK have determined that it was in the country's national interest. That is what you call looking at the big picture. The CBN Governor should have the capacity to look at the big picture and make the right choices and unfortunately Sanusi came short.
