lexiconkabir: Bros thanks for this comment. I'm a typical Yoruba girl and it's most likely that I'll circumcise my female children. Why coz I don't see any reason why I shouldn't. God. .I'd met some crazy girls as an undergraduate. And they can't control their sexual desires . One very close to me showed me her clitoris(cli*to*ris). Jeez.. It was long Eh. Like a mini pe*nis. I just wished she was circumcised coz she was a very good lady but for her heightened sexual appetite. 3 Likes |

This is a disgusting and abominable act. When your girls can't urinate properly then you know barbaric and unsavory this practice is. I have a lot of experience with FGM and it's despicable I can't even talk about it. All these idiots here advocating for it should be ashamed of themselves; you're essentially mutilating a girl's body / 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: Female Genital Mutilation: What You Need To Know As A Nigerian by Memejem: 3:48am On Jul 26, 2016 |
In the western modern world BOTH practices are frowned upon. If you were in the medical field you would understand that FMG and male circumcision are not similar surgical procedures although on paper it sounds the same. It's obvious that you are speaking from a place of emotion rather than through factually based evidence or real experience Where are the standards made by the medial profession for FGM as you claim. Please post it .An act that has been criminalized by many countries does not have regulations. Most countries that engage in this act are not doing it in hospitals with the supervision of licensed health professionals. But rather in dodgy unsanitary enviornments that do more harm than good. Let's agree to disagree. This conversation is not a discourse but rather an emotional outburst on your part. If you care to do the research you will find that there is a huge outcry from thousands of women who have had this procedure done, condemning it from different cultures and countries all over the world. The united nations have gotten involved and it's reached the judicial system of many countries. They are not all wrong. These movements and outcries are not based on a double staNdard. Educate yourself on this issue from an objective standpoint. Put culture aside and critically think about it. This issue has nothing to do with the west vs Nigeria. Its not them vs us. Also ask yourself how many men had gathered together across the globe to spread awareness about the negative effects of male circumcision Not many.because it is not the equivalent procedure done to males and not for the same purpose. hoodboy: 1 Like |

Memejem: My dear I'm being objective, if the west hasn't so criminalized female genital cutting, it would not be receiving the backlash that it is. If they have been "tolerant" of this culture they'd rather sensitize and advocate for safer ways of doing it, e.g using sterilized equipment, perfecting different safe cutting procedures, if half the money spent promoting male circumcision by the west is spent on promoting female circumcision or rather sef if half the money spent criminalizing the procedure is spent understanding it and sensitizing cultures that practice it, the world will be a safer place. Ps. Are you a mother, did you circumcise your son? If yes why put him through that kind of pain that is utterly unnecessary. This is the same argument against fgm basically yet under that same breathe y'all are mutilating male children mostly in the name of religion and not because of any hygiene excuse |

uplawal:I only wrote to where I said, she should shut up and let people with first hand experience speak, I have no idea where the rest of the quote came from, and if you go through my other comments you will realize it's exactly the same thing the other lady was trying to argue with me, I was circumcised, and I still have orgasm sometimes which depends on how stressed I am and other factors, so all the rubbish oyibo people keep putting up is mere speculation, female circumcision has been in existence even before the oyibos dreamt of making voyage to Africa, 98 percent of women in my state are circumcised, the oyibos have lost all the moral ground to tell what is wrong or right, and as some one with first hand experience, I can confidently say they are wrong, the oyibos that don't circumcise their girls, how morally sane is their society? 1 Like |

I don't know about other people but where I come from people are circumcised as babies, and from experience I have a normal s3x life, so I don't even see what the argument is about, the white people have long lost the moral ground to determine what is right or wrong, and going through this thread the circumcised are not bothered, it seems the ones who have no first hand experience are the ones shouting, maybe the lady that did mine was good at it,because for me,I don't seem to relate to the effects listed |

sade1994: @the boldened, we can't completely blame it on lack of circumcision. Her case is just an abnormal overgrowth. And it doesn't apply to all uncircumcised women. For the issue of her excessive sexual appetite, we still can't blame it on lack of circumcision. I will take her to be a nymphomaniac. She has a high level of androgen in her system, which is not common among women. And Biologically speaking, women have a relatively low level of androgen when compared with that of men, thus low libido/sexual urge and it varies with their menstrual cycle. If a woman must be circumcised at all, it must be done with moderation. If it is grossly done, then she is going to have complications. And her husband will never enjoy her. That is the reason why a lot of marriages are not working well or broken today. |

Dejideji1:if you know alot about the famales reproductive organ and circumcision you wouldn't be asking that question, that the top layer was removed doesn't mean it still doesn't link to the vag!na which extends into the body, infact, it healed up and formed a bulged like a swelling, so even when touched there, I still feel sensations. As you can see, other people that were circumcised on this thread can't relate to the effects you are all shouting about, you are even a guy and yet you are even more affected than a circumcised female, hehehehe, 98 percent of female babies are circumcised where I come from,I don't see why you are all crying more than the bereaved |
Re: Female Genital Mutilation: What You Need To Know As A Nigerian by Dejideji1(m): 10:42am On Jul 26, 2016 |
cekhoe: @the boldened, if that is true, it means you were lucky and yours wasn't grossly done. You seem not get the point medical professionals are trying to make. If a woman's vag.inal has been mutilated, it leaves a scar and affects it's elasticity hence obstructed Labour. And other problems listed by the op. Let me make something clear hear, circumcision can not stop a woman that want to be wayward not to be wayward. Or do you want to tell me that all the prostitutes we have today in Nigeria were not circumcised? Ofcourse majority of them are circumcised The androgen hormone plays a huge role is in determining how high your sexual appetite will be. |
Re: Female Genital Mutilation: What You Need To Know As A Nigerian by Nobody: 11:04am On Jul 26, 2016 |
Dejideji1:medical experts of who?, white people?,until I experience the effects myself, then it's just mere speculation. I was aware of a pregnant woman from a place I wouldn't want to mention that wasn't circumcised, during labor she was circumcised before she gave birth, I was young then, so can't recall the reasons, but I for one don't see it as anything, instead of all this, I think the focus should be on the type that is safe, since there are different types. I can confidently tell you that alot of women were circumcised, most feel its too sensitive to talk about it, well not me, so my own advice is to focus on the safe method, because it's still on going everywhere in the country 1 Like |

Dejideji1:I find your second point offensive and it indicates you are a misogynist. So you think women are too dumb to think to that extent?infact it is because of misogynist like you I coined that word after being a guest for some time and seeing how trolls bully women with demeaning words just to win an argument , I will give you home work, go back through the posts I have commented on,and tell me what you think |
Re: Female Genital Mutilation: What You Need To Know As A Nigerian by Dejideji1(m): 11:29am On Jul 26, 2016 |
cekhoe: I am highly disappointed at your response here. What do you mean by who? Or white people? That looks racial to me. What has the medical profession got to do with whether you are black or white? cekhoe: @the boldened, as i said earlier count your self lucky that yours wasn't grossly done. Else you won't still be supporting this barbaric practice. |
Re: Female Genital Mutilation: What You Need To Know As A Nigerian by Nobody: 11:40am On Jul 26, 2016 |
Dejideji1:if you feel its a racist comment, then that's your opinion, but the fact remains that white people have lost the moral ground to separate right from wrong, and maybe I was lucky maybe the type I was given was the safe type, which ever way,the bottom line is I am talking from my own experience, if other circumcised women have a different experience they are welcome to share |
Re: Female Genital Mutilation: What You Need To Know As A Nigerian by Dejideji1(m): 12:07pm On Jul 26, 2016 |
cekhoe: I'm not comfortable with this comment, it's outrageous and extremely offensive. and i can tag you as a racist here. how do you know they have lost it? What facts/proofs do you have? Which criteria did you use to arrive at such conclusion.? cekhoe: Yes, you were lucky. And @the boldened, do you expect such women to come here and narrate their horrible experiences? That's impossible. Those of you that are just ranting here in support of the practice are just lucky that yours wasn't grossly done. |

Re: Female Genital Mutilation: What You Need To Know As A Nigerian by Dejideji1(m): 12:37pm On Jul 26, 2016 |
cekhoe: Those reasons you stated up there are anomalies which are not peculiar to white people alone, rather humans as a whole. Do you want to tell me we don't have sexually perverted black people? What about gays? We even have them in Nigeria, inshort they are everywhere. Recently a popular black South African gay singer died of anal cancer. This are all signs of the end time and it's happening everywhere so stop stereotyping and insulting a particular race. |
