The Fifa boss has disclosed that the international football event will be expanded to 40 from 2026 during his two-day visit to Nigeria on Monday

Fifa president Gianno Infantino has announced that 40 teams will feature at the 23rd edition of the Fifa World Cup from 2026.

In May, the new president of the world football governing body had indicated desire to add eight new teams to the tournament, a proposal that will be discussed possibly in October.
