I cant say a bet shop is a good business to startup.
A bet shop is a commission based business and as such subject to so many factors if u want to succeed.
1. Depends on the percentage of d commission, can u make enough money to get a reasonable commision in a month

2. Most bookies deduct winnings from ur accrued earnings b4 calculating d commission. So u culd have unlucky weeks wen there are so much winnings n u might get zero commision for u.

3. If u look round, so many bet shop close within a year. New ones start n more close up. That speaks alot about d business

4. Your running cost too should b considered. Money for data, electricity, fuel, rent, paper etc


In all, i wont advice u to start a bet business... Bt dts jst my personal n professional opinion

Thanks, but I don't intend doing the business just for this season. Its gonna be a source of livelihood for me, cos I'm about finishing youth service and this is one of the businesses i have in mind, so that's y I need people in the business already to enlighten me more. I have two locations in mind. Owerri or Awka,Anambra state. I also have the idea of running a standard unisex salon.I have 500k now at hand to keep in a fixed deposit account. So I need directions, as well as I pray to God. Thanks
