Demsa LGA of Adamawa state was tensed following the attack on Kodomon village in Demsa by herdsmen.

According to reports, a scheduled meeting between farmers and herdsmen was still ongoing when gunmen stormed the village about noon last Monday with most of the residents away working at their farms shooting sporadically killing of no fewer than eighteen persons including an elected councilor who just got elected and was yet to be sworn in.

During a security meeting at the Hama Batta’s Palace, with the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Benson Akeoroluyo, Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Gazhali, Director of State Security in attendance, others present are members the Security Council and the Deputy Governor of the State engineer Martins Babale.

The Hama Batta, His Royal Majesty Alhamdu Gladstone Teneke says he was disappointed at an earlier report by the police claiming that no life was lost from the attack and exhibit pictures as evidence of casualties.
Speaking to newsmen after the security meeting, Member Adamawa State House of Assembly Hon. Lumsan Mijiadili said “security men are combing the bushes, relieve materials are also being mobilize for the displaced persons”.

On her part, the newly sworn -in chairperson of Demsa Local Government Council, Mrs. Wale Fwa disclose that measures are being put in place to ensure adequate protection while the council appeal for
relief materials from the state government.
