~ But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 19:2
~ He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
OPENING REMARK
You
William - Will I Am
You must have the will, your personality must have a will every day you wake up. Even if you are tired and fatigued, say Will I am and you will be able to scale all hurdles. When people don't appreciate what you do, allow the will to work in you, so, don't cringe, compromise or compromise.
When you become 50, 60, 70 and 80 and your age mates are saying they are tired, the will will move you on.
INTRODUCTION
We are continuing in Impact in ministry and the good path you are to follow, every good thing the Lord has ordained you, you will do in Jesus name. We are looking at the message, GROWING IMPACT IN MINISTRY THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT. Don't say you are filled with the Spirit already, it is what you do with the power of the Spirit that determines that you are truly filled.
God told Moses to select 70 elders so He could put part of the Spirit on Moses on them. But after this impartation, we didn't see any of the elders doing any exploits in the following chapters. But when God put part of the Spirit on Moses on Joshua, he did mighty exploits with it. It is not what we receive that matters, but what we do with the power.
Acts 1:8. Jesus told the disciples to tarry for the power of the Holy Ghost after which they would launch out with the gospel in Jerusalem, Judaea, and in Samaria. They actually went around in Jerusalem and ventured Judaea, but they did not go into Samaria as the Lord said, but just doing merry-go-round.
Acts 19:2. Apostle Paul came to Ephesus and asked the believers if they have received the Holy Ghost since they believed.
You will have impact in your country and beyond. Look at me, I have impact in my country, but I also go to other countries in Africa and beyond. Outside your country, you will have impact. If you don't have a passport, go and get one. You will have great impact.
A. RECEIVE, RESIST NOT THE HOLY SPIRIT (Acts 1:8; John 20:22-23; Acts 2:38-39)
God does not want us to reject the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Ghost comes, He does not differentiate between man and woman. When rain falls, it does not discriminate, but fills every container brought by whoever.
When Jesus went to heaven, the disciples locked themselves up in the Upper Room and were there until the Holy Ghost came. Same for you, when you are afraid, you are afraid of faces, but when the power comes, fear will be taken away from you. You open your door and come out. You shall receive power to move without restrictions to keep moving, pray, heal, destroy the works of the devils. Power to be bold and achieve.
Before the Holy Ghost comes, you are not able to pray well, you cannot preach the gospel. You are afraid that what if you preach and people don't listen, but you will open your mouth as backed up by the Spirit. Jesus did not tell the disciples to finish evangelizing Jerusalem before launching out. Rather, while some are reaching out in Jerusalem, you also go to other places and still come back to base.
ch 2:38-39. Peter who was so afraid that he denied Christ was the one who stood and preached to thousands boldly after being filled with the power of the Holy Ghost. He was not looking down and afraid. When you are filled, where you are cringing and compromising before, you will be bold. The promise of boldness, courage, power and fire is unto you, your children and all who are far off. God will fulfill His promise today and you will be filled to overflowing.
When you receive power, you must do something that shows thst you are filled and also avoid things that will disturb or limit the power from working effectively.
#A - Abandon not the Spirit (Romans 8:9,14-16)
After being filled, you must not abandon Him with the power which He came with
#B - Blaspheme not the Spirit (Mark 3:29)
The Pharisees accused Jesus of using the power of Beelzebub and He warned against blaspheming against the Holy Ghost.
#C - Contradict not the Spirit (2 Chronicles 18:22-23)
The Spirit says you can, if you say you can't, that is a contradiction. He says you should run and not be tired, you refused, do not contradict the Spirit. What God says you can do, you can do.
#D - Despise not the Spirit (Hebrews 10:29)
Don't say the btieht is short, slim or poor in grammar, the Holy Ghost is not in grammar. If you despise him, you are despising the Spirit of God in him. Don't despise that sister, no matter what you know about her. If you do that, you are despising the spirit of God in her. Remember how God told Abimelech to go and meet Abraham who had no child. What if Abimelech said show me your testimony or children first before he allowed him to pray for him. He did not despise Abraham and the word of restoration was done in him.
#E - Exchange not the Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:12)
Do not exchange the Spirit of God for the spirit of the world.
#F - Forsake not the Spirit (1 Samuel 10:9-10; 16:14)
Do not forsake the Spirit of God.
#G - Grieve not the Spirit (Ephesians 4:30-32)
Grieve not the Spirit in anything you do.
#H - Harden not heart against the Spirit (Nehemiah 9:20,26,29-30)
B. RAISE, RUIN NOT THE HARVESTED SOULS (Jeremiah 5:24; Proverbs 10:5; John 4:35-38; Jeremiah 8:20-22; Matthew 9:36-38)
You are a man and woman of destiny, and the life you live everyday must amount to something.
Jeremiah 5:24. God has given you opportunity and calling in the right season. He has reserved His grace to you to evangelize. He has appointed to you the week of the harvest. Someone was sick, and you were called to pray for her, don't say how about her husband who is a pastor. God has reserved for you that season to minister. When you take the privileges given to you, the Lord will manifest His power in you. Don't say how about the other person? Don't say you are tired because of your age or health, but you will not run away, but stay in the position where for has placed you. You will go, achieve and bring glory to the name of Christ.
In the work of God, there are many activities lined up for us. Look at Moses at the Red Sea, look at him helping Joshua to win the battle and also bringing water from the rock. Don't limit yourself, be here and there, and the Lord will grant you success in all.
#J - Journey not without the Spirit (Acts 16:6-7)
The Apostles were restricted from going to Bithynia at a point.
#K - Keep Nothing but by the Spirit (2 Timothy 1:13-14)
We must keep the great commission by the power of the Spirit.
#L - Lie not to the Spirit (Acts 5:3-4)
We must not lie to the Spirit. Moses lived more up to 120 years, when you have finished your assignment, you will be permitted to go. 70 years is general, but you are not general, but unique. Prophet Isaiah told Hezekiah that he was finished. He waited for him to go before praying to God, telling Him that he still had more work to do.
Ananias and his wife cut their lives short by lying against the Holy Ghost on the amount of money they brought to the feet of the Apostles. Your life will jot be cut short, yìí will not be like Ananias and Sapphira.
#M - Misuse not the Spirit (Acts 8:18-23)
Don't misuse the opportunity you have with the Spirit. He is also God, so accord to Him all honour.
#N - Neglect not the Spirit (1 Timothy 4:14-16)
Do not neglect the Holy Spirit who will help you to do all you are called to do. When the load is too heavy for you, call to the Holy Spirit, and He will come and help you. You and the Holy Spirit, you will do exploits.
#O - Obstruct not the Spirit (Luke 11:13-26)
Operate by the Spirit of God and not obstruct Him.
#P - Pervert not the Spirit (1 John 4:2-6)
Say exactly what the Spirit says, don't add to, or subtract from it.
#Q - Quench not the Spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:19-22)
Don't quench the power of the Spirit. The power of God will begin to do new things in your life. Don't stop the power of God in anyone. Don't stop His activities in you. When He is moving in you, don't resist Him. I used to stay on a point while preaching. I will only look at the person in front of me. But now, I move about as I preach. Don't say, Pastor, stay in a place, it is the Spirit moving. Some people say I should be tired by now, but I say the Spirit is not tired.
#R - Resist not the Spirit (Acts 7:51,53)
In whatever direction the Lord is leading you, go there and from today, you will do everything like you have never done it before. When King Saul was tormented by evil spirits, David was called to play the instrument and the evil spirit recognized the power of the Spirit and fled from Saul. From today, our singers will minister under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
C. RENEW, REPRESS NOT THE HUMBLE SPIRIT
Your drive and purpose is renewed when you receive the power of the Holy Spirit.
#S - Strive not with the Spirit (Genesis 6:3)
#T (Tempt not the Spirit (Acts 5:9)
#U - Underestimate not the Spirit (Isaiah 63:11-15)
Don't underestimate the Holy Spirit in you. Through you, you will say what He puts in you.
#V - Vex not the Spirit (Isaiah 63:10)
#W - Withdraw not from the Spirit (Psalm 139:7,23-24)
It is exciting, exalting to be filled and united with the Spirit, so, don't withdraw yourself from Him.
#X - Xasperate not the Spirit (Galatians 5:17)
Don't tire out, or have any conflict with the Spirit.
#Y - Yield not to another Spirit (2 Corinthians 11:4)
#Z - Zigzag no more from the Spirit (Jude vs 17-21)
Don't zigzag the Holy Spirit. He is coming to you, let Him meet you where you are. From now on, a new life will begin.
Can it start now? Rise and go to the Lord in prayer.

TOPIC: GREATER GROWTH THROUGH THE GRACE AND GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT

Acts 4:33
~ And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
A. THE COMMISSION AND PURPOSE OF THE GOSPEL OF THE SAVIOUR (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 26:16-18)
Matthew 28:18-19. As we preach the gospel, we do not recognize any other power outside that of Christ. The curriculum and teaching is the same. All nations, regardless of language and creed, the message must be the same. We are preparing everyone for the Kingdom of God and we must emphasis to them that they must be born again.
vs 20. After they have been born again, you must teach them to observe, and do all things that they have been taught. As we obey this instruction, the Lord promised to be with us to the end.
Acts 26:16-18. You must always bear in mind why God called you. Is it to make sinners happy in their sins or to make the backsliders comfortable in their state? Definitely not. We come to the Ministers Conference so that we can be reminded of what we already know.
You are to "open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me." These are the things to emphasize. If we are not turning those who are in dearness to light, from the power of satan to God, you are not fulfilling your purpose.
1. Great Grace and Faithfulness for the Great Commission (1 Corinthians 15:10; Romans 15:18-19; Acts 17:6; 19:10)
The grace of God which saved us made us faithful. Without grace, no one can be saved. Apostle Paul said by the grace of God, he was what he was. Some people don't want to be corrected or rebuked, they say they are okay by themselves. The grace of God makes us new creatures in Christ, turns our lives around, makes us gentle and meek, even though we were harsh and violent in the past. When the truth had transformed your life, the old rebellion, transgressions and sinfulness is gone. Then you can say, "by the grace of God, I am what I am".
When you have the grace to hear the word of God, pure and simple, and you don't allow it to work as it would, can you say the same thing. The grace of God also helps us to fulfill the great commission.

2. Glorious Gospel in Fullness through Great Commitment (Romans 15:29; Acts 20:24-27; 8:4; Psalm 68:11)
Is the grace that saved you complete and has all the attributes it ought to have? A minister who preaches fire and brimstone cannot go and beet his wife. The gospel must convert you. You cannot drink alcohol, tobacco, some steal money, worship idols in the secret. You cannot preach the glorious, life-saving gospel with all these vices in your life.

3. Greater 'going forth' with Great Faith for Great Conversions (Mark 16:20; Acts 3:19,26; 15:3; 13:44,48-49)
We are going forth because we want souls converted. Some people just preach to make people happy and comfortable in sin. When a serious message has been preached and the people are not happy, the one who comes to lead the prayer afterwards must never make the people feel happy by singing and making them cheerful. There is nothing for the people to rejoice over when they are in sin. Repentance will not be perfect and whole when the preacher seek to make the people happy.
Mark 16:20. After the Lord had commissioned the Apostles, they went forth and preached everywhere. If you preach something different from what the Lord sent us, He will not be with us. We bring the presence of the Lord into our lives if we preach the word as He commanded us. He will never work with a drunkard and licentious preacher who gives people license to sin. Jesus will follow us with power and signs following if we obey Him. He will only confirm the words He gave us to preach. His own words. Tell it as it is, don't add or subtract anything from it.

B. THE CONSECRATION OF PARTAKERS OF THE GRACE OF SANCTIFICATION
Grace has not done a complete work in you if there is no sanctification. The same God of salvation is the God of sanctification. The same God of healing is the God of holiness, of purity and power. As we commit and consecrate ourselves to Him - our purpose, plans and projects - He will always be with us.

Jesus asked Simon Peter if he loved Him. Love that can be demonstrated, seen and perceived. Before we partake of the sanctification experience, and afterwards, there must be consecration.

1. Command by God to Sanctification (Leviticus 20:7-8; Hebrews 12:14,28; 1 Thessalonians 4:3,7; 5:22-24)
Leviticus 20:7-8. The Lord commanded the people to be holy as He is holy. The people must separate themselves from the world.
Hebrews 12:14. We are commanded to follow peace with all men. But remember, Jesus was not as peace with the Pharisees, and Judas Isacariot, not with people who works to destroy the gospel. People who hinder other to get saved or be holy.

2. Consecration for the Grace of Sanctification (John 17:14-17; 2 Timothy 2:19-22; 2 Corinthians 5:14-15; Matthew 10:37-38)
We must love the Lord above everything and everyone on earth. Whoever loves other things and people more than the Lord is not worthy of Him. We must love the Lord our God who can take us to heaven. His name is Jesus. We must demonstrate our love for Him with every opportunity we have.

If we cringe when people challenge us, our love is doubtful. Anyone who yields to everyone and everything and does not stand for the right is not worthy of Him.

3. Confirmation of our Godliness and Sanctification (2 Peter 1:3-4; 1 Peter 1:2,14-16; Ephesians 5:26-27)
By our experience of sanctification, we have virtue, godliness, and the divine nature which is seen both in the secret and in the open.

C. THE COMPREHENSION AND POSSESSION OF THE GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT
We need the power of the Spirit so that we do all we do in the power of the flesh. By power, we do the work of God acceptably.

1. Praying passionately for the Gift of the Spirit (Acts 2:38-39; Isaiah 44:3; John 7:37-39; Luke 11:9,13)
Acts 2:38-39. The gift of the Holy Ghost is to be filled, immersed in the power of the Holy Ghost. After salvation and sanctification, there is more to come. For example, salvation removes the branches of the tree while sanctification removes the root of the tree. The Holy Ghost does not live in unholy vessels. Salvation outside the heart is clean. At sanctification, the inside is washed and made holy. Then the Holy Ghost is invited to come and live inside of us. This we pray passionately to receive.

2. Pursuing Perseveringly the Gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:7-11; 2 Kings 2:2,4,6,9-15; Acts 9:9,11,17; 13:2-4)
Sanctification is profitable for me, but the gifts of the Spirit are profitable in me for the people as I minister to them.
1 Corinthians 12:7-11 "7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will."
If it is only one tongue you speak year after year, it is not the gift of diverse tongues. When what you say is interpreted, lives will be touched, and you yourself will be edified and established to the end.

3. Preaching Persuasively to Gentiles, by the Spirit ( Acts 13:43,44,47; 19:8,10-12,26; 2 Corinthians 5:11; 2 Timothy 1:12-14)
2 Corinthians 5:11 "Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences." We persuade sinners to be saved, and believers to give their best to the Lord.
Where are your converts? Are they truly saved and holy? Are you persuading anyone that the Lord is coming? Brethren, brothers, sisters, Ministers, preachers, we must now embark on a persuasive ministry. Knowing that God follows us everywhere, He listens to all we say. If our messages leads no one to heaven, from darkness to light, from the power of satan to God, God will shake His head in disapproval.
But if we put Him first, He nods His head in approval, and we are made manifest in the consciences of those we minister to.
Rise and go to the Lord in prayer.
