Hello Nairalanders,

Let me go straight to the point. My tenant rent expired about 3 months ago. After disturbing him seriously, which almost lead to a fight. He travelled and haven't come back to the house for over 1 month now. I called him last week, and he said he doesn't have money and hanged up on me. I am confused and don't know what to do. I didn't give him a receipt (paper confirmation) when he started staying in the house, we relied on mouth transactions (its just a small one room). I don't know whether to involve the police, take the case to court or throw his property out. Please nairalanders, i need your suggestions or advice for the best action to take.

Thanks.

Why didn't you issue receipts? Go report at the nearest police station.
