Wow! Zombies have moved from buhari is a God to there is no better alternative. Buhari Is A Liar, he said he was going to make life better for Nigerians but he is doing the exact opposite. He spent half of his lifetime fantasizing and thinking of how to become president and now that he is there he is completely clueless, All he does is take pictures and fly around. The guy was overthrown in 1985 and since then he has achieved nothing for himself(no further education, no businesses, no charity organizations, no investments) Honestly Buhari is incompetent and he knows it, he also knows that if he truly love Nigeria then he has to resign before 2016. My prayer is if buhari does not resign or accept defeat in 2019 or before due to selfishness or "I am your saviour" mentality , then may Almighty Allah destroy him, his team and his camp. Before you label me an IPOB or wailer please know that I am hausa man from katsina and also a muslim 8 Likes |

It's interesting how a few months ago Egypt had knocked S.A down to the number three spot and now we're back up again. |

chineloSA: Not when your currency is weakening on a daily basis, the Naira in the black market is above N400 to the $1 as we speak, so the official rate fell to N350 to the dollar before the CBN intervene, then it dropped to N320. The CBN must stop to intervene in the intermarket just to save the free fall of the Naira, they are wasting money by doing so, while the naira in the black market is rocketing higher. In a real world, had the CBN left the Naira to float and no intervention, it would be chasing the one in the black market and they would meet in the middle, but that's not the case because the CBN is trying to defend the Floating currency, which is unheard of. Nigeria was never the largest economy in Africa. It was only by default that Nigeria manufactured its way to the top spot. First of all their capped their naira to N197 hoping to defend it with oil money, now since oil money has run dry, then it was partially floated. If Nigeria wanna compete with SA on an equal basis, SA will win by 100 miles. Reserve Bank of SA never intervene when their Rand gets hummered and its a floating currency, one of the heavily traded currency in the world. $1.6bn to $2bn gets traded on a daily basis in SA whereas in Nigeria only $40m gets traded, see the gap. 5 Likes |

Centrifude: South Arica regained its 2nd spot in July after Egypt devalued their currency. Even Egypt is doing the very same ting that Nigeria is doing, capping their Egyptian pound, its 8.88 to the dollar in the official market while in the black market is 12.25 pound. Currently they are going around shutting all the black market traders in a bid to have a pegged pound to be effective. You cannot manufacture the rate of your currency, once you do that, no potential investor will ever set foot in your country. Now Egypt wants help from IMF, and IMF has given them conditions to give them that Loan, one of it is to devalue their currency once again to reflect reality on the ground. What I am trying to show you is that in reality, Egyptian and Nigerian economies are very small compare to the South African one. Example, lets take Nigeria total GDP of N94trillion and divide it by the black market rate which is currently at N405 to the dollar, N94000/405= $232BN, and take Egyptian pound 2400/12.25 = $196BN and the South African one R4000/13.28 = $301BN. You see South Africa is the largest economy in Africa by far in reality. But if you consider the partially floated Nigerian naira at 94000/320 = $294BN, smaller than that of SA and the Egyptian one will be 2400/8.88 = $270BN. Therefor: 1. South Africa = $301BN 2. Nigeria = $294BN on official rate and $232BN for black market rate 3. Egypt = $270BN on official rate and $196BN for black market calculated rate Hopefully it makes sense, but its a simple maths 3 Likes |

I have said times without number tie our currency to the value of a barrel of oil. 1 new Naira = 40 dollars. 40 dollars X 400 = 16000 1 new naira = 16,000 old naira. It means everything to get the true value would be divided by 16000. NOW LET US LOOK DEVALUATION OF OIL SINCE 1980 in 2013 a barrel of oil was 150 dolads per barrel. Whilst in 1984 to 1991 it was hovering between 10 dollars and 20 dollars per barrel. TODAY IT IS 40 DOLLAR. COMPARE THAT WITH NAIRA DEPRECIATION FROM 1 to 1 in 1980 to 1 to 400 in 2016 Which one has depreciated d more . I leave u guys to answer that |

The price of a Barrel of oil is a universally accepted price it means u either pay by your paper new naira notes or exchange by barter with a barrel of oil which accepted all over the world. |

Just before the elections, I told anyone who cared to listen about Buhari's very bad history with the Nigerian economy. How the circumstances were somewhat similar to his previous failed outing as president and how he was bound to fail more woefully yet again. I cried about his nepotism tendencies, his selective fight for corruption, his intolerance to criticism, his disregard for the judiciary and media, his lack of international decorum, his foolish stubbornness and inability to heed common sense advice, that he is deluded in believing to be a strength. I told them that a half witted GEJ was much better than a fully functional Cassandra. But they wouldn't listen, they were bitten by the zombie bug. Now see how low we've sunk 3 Likes |

Blaming Buhari isn't gonna help nigerians. The truth is Buhari has exposed the LIE that you have been living for 2 years. Fake 418ed Gdp by Ngozi and Kale. The truth is coming to bite you now. We have been telling you this since 2014. [b]South Arica regained its 2nd spot in July after Egypt devalued their currency. ^^^^^^S.A. economy is the most advance and complicated economy in AFRICA. Pity the nigerian economist failed to figure this out. The failed to analyze the 3 legged pot. Our market cap alone those who are clued about economics and accounting know that S.A.s market cap is over $ 1 trillion and is 3 times bigger than our gdp. This complicates things...even another Portugese prof. mentioned it many times. He predicted nigerias FALL. #NIGERIA MUST FALL!!!! Most S.A. academics doubted nigerias economy rebased size from day one. MOST Z.A. ACADEMICS KNEW SOMETHING WAS FISHY BUT DECIDED TO KEEP IT TO THEMSELVES. Anyways 14, my former university mates are in the country they work in the UK, US and came for RE-UNION and will be flying back on Saturday. Thanks to the RAND VS DOLLAR RATE. They told us cars are cheaper in UK than here in Mzansi in a way they wer planning to buy some.
