This is a poem i wrote a while ago. i may be a jackass, but i also have thsi tender side of me that actually appreciates love and the desire to love and be loved.


The Love I Crave

The search for true and unending love
Has left even the strongest man helpless.
The quest for the feeling of warmth
has left the greatest, a mere clown.

People go far and wide in its search;
The search for whom to call their own.
It takes a lot of people years upon years
and led many with more questions than answers.

Some get lucky to have it pushed at them.
Some are lucky to have it come to them.
Some on the other hand toyed with it,
not knowing it is what it is until it’s gone.

I, believe me, am among the lucky ones.
May I interest you with why I think so?
It's because I have the greatest one can wish for,
that feeling of belonging and inner warmth.

This is all because I have that person.
That person that completed my heart's quest.
He brought it all to a stop.
He is that HIM that completes ME.

Behold his love overwhelms me wholly;
His love makes mine a whole lot stronger.
I believe his strength takes me through my days.
He is my destiny and I am His.

I read your poem, and it was nice
and when the trip is good we go twice
Olusolami some have a lifetime,
and some just a day.
but love isn't something you measure that way.
Nothings ever forever.
Forever is a lie.
All we have is between hello and goodbye.

why thank you whitelexi. As matter of factor I am. I am a Poem Analyst and Critic for The Fresh Movement (a writers' and poets' state international club for the country in which I am currently residing in) and I do write poems and articles myself, have a number of them published as well with my art pieces some of which have been purchased [dont mean to brag, )

Thats remarkable, but i feel a bit under-appreciated right now cos that poem was written within 5mins of reading the post and i really didnt have much time to think of the controvertial lines:

Forever is a lie.
All we have is between hello and goodbye.

Plus i was only trying to make the OP feel better - more like console her cos her own poem had a hint of heartbreak to it
