How Academics Is Killing The Future Of Nigerians. by abbeyfel: 12:44pm On Aug 17, 2016
To be educated is great, and as a matter of fact a tool that is needed to shape our world today. Great nations have always emerged from the hard and collective efforts of "educated minds". Education helps sharpen mind, talent and skills. But it has never being that going to school and acquiring a degree or masters guarantee that an individual has truly been educated. To me, that is academics. When you are educated, you certainly understands and can therefore utilize what as been learnt. Academicians are those that are book detailed. They know how to dot the (I) and cross the (t), but are rarely creative or you innovative. These are the set of people Nigeria has been put under since the inception of democracy. We give much credence and honour to the Harvard, Oxford and Cambridge universities trained much more than any other. The question is this, apart from some bleeping policies they come up with from time to time, are they really innovative or inspired? Has there been a time we have really moved by a giant stride base on the idea of a government in this country? All we get are just POLICIES! POLICIES!! POLICIES!!!. Nothing have we really enjoyed in this country. We are either managing or suffering and smilling. This is what We get when we put our destiny in the hands of Academicians who probably got certified by hook or by crook. What make us think a man or woman with a diploma who as added value to their lives by always expanding their knowledge by several means of self development can not do better than e.g, an Harvard trained individual? Only inspired ideas can change a nation. Mere policies can only most time cater for short time inadequacies. Hmmmmm. Many bright minds can't even get elected into local governments where governance is most visible and reachable. Most annoying is that the trend still continues....

Abeg make I rest my fingers jare.
