There is a good news coming from Brazil as the yellow card issued to John Mikel Obi in the game against Denmark has been canceled by FIFA. John Mikel Obi and two other Nigeria players Muenfuh Sincere and Usman Muhammed benefitted from this decision as they will be yellow card free going to play against Germany. John Mikel Obi who is the captain of the side is an instrumental figure in the team and with the yellow card hanging of his head going to the game against Germany, there were fears that he might miss the final if he gets another yellow card if Nigeria beats Germany. Mikel benefitted from this new rule by FIFA, that suspends yellow card gotten in the knockout stage going to the semifinals. FIFA was concerned about important and key players missing out on the finals because of suspension through yellow card. Nigeria Olympic football team is fighting for a medal as they play Germany today in Brazil to secure a place to the finals. Nigeria winning the game today will give the country hope of at least a silver medal, while if they lose, they will have to go and play a third place match for the bronze medal. http://gidiblitz.com/index.php/91-sport/22220-mikel-two-nigeria-players-had-yellow-card-cancelled |
