koolchicco: I love Sunny Bobos music. I play him to sleep and I wake up playing him. I just want to send him a token of my appreciation. Not much, but some loose change to buy beer. Say, 20 bottles of Star beer! My wedding? Don't you need to have a girl friend first before having a wedding? I am already married; married to my work! |
Re: Just Doesn’t Taste Like Moi Moi! by LadyAnn(f): 1:15pm On Oct 01, 2009 |
Potu: LOL, Lawd i have no idea what "if it is true that you can't cook;" has to do in this, u are being prejudiced and discriminative!!! (I jest) I didnt say I couldnt cook, you just assumed that!. Note my comment. I said I can never get IT right (As in Moi moi, or known in my part of the planet as Olele) right. I also tried to make egusi-pudding which is similar, but sadly couldnt do it, the banana leaves somehow incorperated itself with the moimoi and the taste was absolutely bitter. Maybe I should have wrapped in in cling-film and then put it in the leaves, |

Re: Just Doesn’t Taste Like Moi Moi! by LadyAnn(f): 2:28pm On Oct 01, 2009 |
koolchicco: Are you serious? And I quote!!!! " I went to the Italian market for some fresh ingredients (tomatoes, onions, eggs, flank steak, chicken breast, dried salmon, etc). After that I went to the Spanish store and got my powdered beans. I know moi moi is cooked; wrapped in some type of leave but for the life of me, I can’t remember what the leave is called. " NEED I SAY MORE?? LMAO |
Re: Just Doesn’t Taste Like Moi Moi! by koolchicco: 2:41pm On Oct 01, 2009 |

LadyAnn: koolchicco: I walked straight into a hornet’s nest with my comment, “astonishingly beautiful ex-wife!” I hope; I outlive my error. LadyAnn, I hope the lady in you will implore you to forgive me. Mr. Koolchicoo, are you trying to defend me or bury me (you are supposed to be my friend)? LadyAnn, I apologize (without reservations) for my rude joke, and I promise it will not happen again. You are a very beautiful woman and will make a very good wife. You realize your culinary shortcomings and you are working to correct them: that is excellent. Dear Mr. Koolchicco: I was thinking about 4 Star Beers, now we will have to cut you down to three(3). |
Re: Just Doesn’t Taste Like Moi Moi! by LadyAnn(f): 10:31am On Oct 02, 2009 |
Gee thanks for your compliment though Im not sure if it was, we are all Queens and Ladies, no ifs no buts no Maybe's, Was gonna forgive u but on retrospect, your reply is wrong on so many levels, Will try to keep this short You said and I quote "You realize your culinary shortcomings and you are working to correct them:" Since when does not being able to make Moi Moi result in me being a failure in the cooking department? Mr Potu, you have insulted me! (And anyhow mine came out ok, Just didnt taste like the ones they do back home and im still trying to perfect it. What did yours taste like? Hehehehhe Qoute "You are a very beautiful woman and will make a very good wife" NO I WILL NOT MAKE A GOOD WIFE CUZ of my outward appearance. Let me educate you on what makes a good wife. Read proverbs 31. http://christian.families.com/blog/the-proverbs-31-woman-the-virtuous-wife furthermore who says im not already married? or better still who says i even want to get married? Ahhhh! You think your sooo clever Finally, why should a woman automatically become an EX because she lacks in the cooking department??, I had the insinuaation that folks marry for love, I guess I was wrong. Im thanking God that the 21st century African ladies are very well educated and can hold their own. Apology to other forumites who wanna stick to topic. @topic. Mr Potu, personally i dont think you were trying to make Moi Moi. Bean stew perhaps? Your ingredients are all wrong In so many levels and its pure Lazyness to get readymade powdered bean. Whats with the steak anyhow? shiiii u must be rich to add that as an ingredient. Boy u need to get u a ticket to Nigeria fast fast fast (clicks fingers) cos if thats how u attempt Moi Moi I dred to know how u attempt other african dishes, and u have the cheek to tell me i cant cook @koolchicco Sorry If i lost u a pint!!! |
Re: Just Doesn’t Taste Like Moi Moi! by koolchicco: 11:31am On Oct 02, 2009 |

Re: Just Doesn’t Taste Like Moi Moi! by Potu(m): 12:29am On Oct 03, 2009 |
LadyAnn: koolchicco: Dear Mr. Koolchicco, we are definitely back. You have been elevated to 5 bottles of Star beer with immediate effect. And sincerely, I mean with immediate effect. I’ll contact you on your site! LadyAnn; I apologize without reservations for the comments about the be- or would-be of your marital status. I am not very good at semantics, but your points are well taken and taken in good faith. I actually did have shredded chicken-breast and fresh lobsters for the moi moi; however, I omitted them because I lacked the space (I have only six (6) Pyrex dishes). |
Re: Just Doesn’t Taste Like Moi Moi! by Potu(m): 12:41am On Oct 03, 2009 |
LadyAnn: LadyAnn, it was intended to be a compliment. Not being able to make moi moi does not make anybody a failure in the cooking department. All I was trying to say was that it is praiseworthy you realized your moi moi was not perfect so you endeavored to improve it. You are a Nigerian, I am a Nigerian; we have much more in common than my careless slip of tongue. |
Re: Just Doesn’t Taste Like Moi Moi! by LadyAnn(f): 12:48am On Oct 03, 2009 |
Potu: LOL Lobsters, thank God u omitted them, It would have been a crying shame to chuck it all in the bin, Including the moi moi. Regarding Koolchicco's 5 star beer. I realize Bribery will get u everywhere, so do for him what im prepared to do for him, Mr Koolchicco, 1 crate star beer! what do u say |

Re: Just Doesn’t Taste Like Moi Moi! by ThiefOfHearts(f): 2:02am On Oct 03, 2009 |
You can tell those whose mothers let them watch TV while she was busy slaving away in the kitchen cos they're boys. Pyrex indeed. Look at another one mentioning microwave. Just cos you're males doesnt mean you have the right to be embarrassing. Fish is nasty in moin moin. If you want that reddish kinda moin moin, tomato suace is fine. abeg no go buy the MEATY pasta sauce. |
Re: Just Doesn’t Taste Like Moi Moi! by Potu(m): 6:17am On Oct 03, 2009 |
ThiefOfHearts: And then, she turns around and let all her male children watch TV, while she is busy slaving in the kitchen. Be they mothers, sisters, or wives; they are to blame. On every one woman who lets her son cook; fifty ridicule their sons' if he tries (lol)! |
Re: Just Doesn’t Taste Like Moi Moi! by koolchicco: 8:46am On Oct 03, 2009 |
