Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has petitioned the British High Commission against his continuous trial by the federal government.



Kanu was arrested by officials of the Department of State Securities (DSS) in October, 2015. A situation which generated mass protest in the southeastern part of Nigeria. He is yet to be released from indetention.

The letter written by a member of Kanu’s family reads:

“We write to the British High Commission on the ugly direction the politically orchestrated trial of Nnamdi Kanu (a British citizen) is premised on a most concocted charges of treasonable felony is gradually assuming.

“In the face of this conspiratorial plot by the Nigerian government to hang our client at all cost and by any means, we respectfully invite the British government to demonstrate more responsive concern in restoring the dignity and freedom if our client whose fundamental rights as guaranteed under the supreme laws of the land and relevant international conventions has been grossly violated by Nigerian government.

“Despite our stiff opposition to this application (protection of witnesses), the honourable court for reasons best known to him, apparently not supported by any legal precedence or judicial authorities made a volte-face and strangely varied the order he made on the 19th day of February, 2016.

“In effect, the court granted an application for a secret trial of our client, a British citizen obviously sitting in appeal against his order made on the February 2016,” the letter said.

Meanwhile, the federal government has released all IPOB members who were arrested in Aba, Abia state, during their prayer rally in February, 2016.

The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, ordered security agencies in the state to release the Biafra agitators, who were in detention camps and prison custody.

He suddenly realised he is a British citizen who has his family safely tucked away in the UK, yet he was sourcing for funds to start a violent rebellion in faraway Nigeria?

If shit had hit the fan, he would have abandoned all the unfortunate miscreants he was goading to their death, and returned to his peaceful country, UK.

This guy deserves to surpass Mandela in jail, then we would release the British ex-convict back to his British motherland.

Nnamdi Kanu's father, mother, brothers and sisters are all living in Biafra land. Most of them have joined the IPOB protest on several occasions. If you think that Nnamdi Kanu will abandon this struggle, then you need to have your brain examined. Initially, characters like you were challenging Nk to step foot to the Zoo called niGERia if he had the guts. Unfortunately for your likes, NK announced on air on radio Biafra that he will be entering the Zoo and also announced the date. He not only came into the niGERia but equally lodged and like dullard that the Zoo president is he foolishly got hands on NK and since then to today, he and the country has never known Peace and will never know Peace until like everything created by man, the cursed entity called niGERia collapses and from her ashes emerges the sovereign state of Biafra and others.

The number of people claiming to write or speak for Nnamdi Kanu these days is baffling. Now it's a letter a family member wrote? Who is this family member? Probably another member of the Yoruba propaganda media who can't stand the fact that Kanu and IPOB have escaped the mental slavery syndrome called 'one Nigeria'

Hmmmm! The fear of ban from the mods here is the beginning of silence on biafran issues!

But one thing is certain, the doggedness of Kanu and his never dying attitude to his convictions is the true mark of an igbo man. Though igbos love money but not to the extent of an igbo losing his heritage for money!

After instigating violence he meant to flee abroad.Thou I support biafra agitators but why must it be Nnamdi kanu a bristish citizen?What happens to other igbo brothers who have fame and connection in Nigeria?Obviously he really wana mesmerised the national and wreck havoc while his family stays put in Britain Just imaging?

I'm fully in support of restructuring of Nigeria. Let every region or tribe decide if they still want to be part of this country. I believe every region has a right of self determination.

"IF JUSTICE ABANG CANNOT UNDERSTAND HOW CIVIL SERVANTS' TAX CLEARANCE WORKS, HE OUGHT TO HAVE SOUGHT CLARIFICATIONS" - APPEAL COURT.

These were the exact words of Court of Appeal Justice Ibrahim Shata Bdilya today while reading the judgement in the case between Gov. Ikpeazu vs Uche Ogah.

Read for yourself the verdict of the Appeal Court:

“The issue of tax clearance which puts the burden of proof on the Governor on the tax issues, was not an issue, with regards to a civil servant or public officers whose tax is deducted at source and of which the first respondent was one.
his tax income will be assessed by the tax office.

“I do not agree with the trial judge that it is the second respondent that is the governor that supplied the information to the tax office.

“That would have been true if he had a private business on the side, for which he would have been required by law to declare to the tax office.

“But as a civil servant his tax is deducted at source and imputed by the tax office.

“If the trial judge cannot understand how civil servants tax clearance works he ought to have sought clarifications,” he stressed.

Explaining further, he pointed out that he could not agree that the tax documents submitted were irregular and false.

“The challenge in the originating summons in relation to tax clearance is not any where near the narrow view envisaged by the Electoral Act.

“There is no allegation of non-payment of tax but that the documentation was false. I therefore resolve this ground in favour of the pdp.

“It is my view that the judge committed a great injustice to the rules of natural justice by not listening to all sides In the case.

“By not listening to the Chief tax officer in defence of the Governor he had shut out their opportunity to defend themselves.

“By failing to consider the application of one James Okeji, a director in the Abia State tax office and on the other hand saying that it was an afterthought, the High Court Judge missed a golden opportunity to give all sides opportunity, thereby abandoning his training as a judge,” the Appeal Court held.

It also held that that except a person had participated in an election that he would not be issued a certificate of return and not that could not be decided by a court.

“That is why in the case of Rotimi Amechi the Supreme Court ordered that he should be sworn in and not issued a certificate of return.

“There is a laid down proceedings as to how a certificate of return should be issued to a person,” the Justice held.
