Here's a message from a Nigerdeltan to the shameless parasites in the South: WombRaiders: Yoruba wants one Nijeriya because they are afraid of having us in the better south ( ND and SE) Leave them alone with ab0ki. It is not just a matter of financial exigency but a matter of survival. For all the hatred they show towards the Ibos, the Yoruba needs the Ibo to thwart any jihad from the north. So to my Ibo brothers and sisters, what I can conclude from this yoruba madness and obsession towards Biafr@ movement is actually shrouded in deep fear of being left alone with their northern masters. Adeboye will be converted to Islam. Tunde Bakare will return back to Islam. The Yoruba is actually throwing tantrums over Biafr@ because they need YOU IBOS to remain to protect them just as they need us in the ND to keep feeding them. The Yoruba is an ingrate coward! WombRaiders: Seed of defiance. You can not undo God's wrath. For to long you bastards have lived off the blood of the innocent. You sat back and watched the killing of innocent christians in the hands of your bokos and used it for political gain. Now, GOD will reward you bastards with His vengence. Nemesis is coming and by this time next year a Christian Republic will rise from the Bight of Biafr*. : You can keep labelling me an ibo and making every excuse for your inconsequential existence on ibos but the truth remains that the ND and SE will not subsidize you no more. Trolling Biafrans who sincerely want, and are bold enough to fight for their freedom will end up making we yorubas a worthless people. ODIGIE-OYEGUN INSIST APC WON’T IMPOSE, ENDORSE ANY CANDIDATE The All Progressives Congress (APC) has assured aspirants seeking to contest the Ondo State gubernatorial election on the party platform of no preferential treatment. The APC Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, said this on Saturday in Abuja during a meeting to settle all disputes and allay the fears of the aspirants. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the gubernatorial aspirants had accused the party chairman in the state, Chief Isaac Kekemeke, of adopting, endorsing an aspirant and tampering with the delegates’ list. NAN recalls that the party members in the state promptly suspended Kekemeke. Assuring the aspirants of fair play, Odigie-Oyegun paid tribute to all the aspirants for promptly responding to the call for the peace meeting Source:http://www.sarakinews.com/2016/08/odigie-oyegun-insist-apc-wont-impose.html kayfra: |

Jediel1: Your hatred for Yoruba people cannot stop us from continuing to make progress. It will only keep you in spiritual darkness and economic backwardness. Why don't you dissipate all that energy on how to develop the East. Eastern youths have been destroyed by the hatred for the Yoruba people fed them by their elders. 5 Likes |

rlauncher: Lying propagandist, it cannot be overemphasised that the bile-filled hatred passed onto many Yorubas has made them to rarely see the good in other people. It's that hatred for the Igbo Nation that will be your greatest undoing. However, read this message from your sensible Yoruba brother, Maxwell Adeyemi Adeleye, concerning Yoruba youths: - I can also articulate that 85% of the CEOs and executive directors of commercial banks operating in Nigeria today are Igbos and Hausas under the age of 50. - The Apapa wharf in Lagos has virtually been taken over by the Easterners. The data that I got from the Nigerian custom services divulges that 63% of those licensed to transact businesses in Apapa Wharf are Igbos. - Ninety-five percent of transport, travel and tour firms operating in Lagos are owned by the enterprising and hardworking Easterners - ...the popular Ladipo and Owode motor spare parts markets in Lagos are now solidly in the hands of Igbos - Yaba, Oyigbo, Sabo, Oshodi, Agege, Alaba, Idumota, etc. markets have been taken over by the Easterners and Northerners who are predominantly youths. - Let me also assert unequivocally that the Igbo youths are now becoming more prosperous in the entertainment industry than the Yoruba youths - ...most Yoruba movies are short of creativity - Educationally, the Yorubas are no longer in the top-three. According to the National Universities Commission (NUC), Anambra, Imo and Enugu have the highest number of professors and doctorate degree holders in Nigeria. Ekiti and Ondo states that used to top the list have been demoted to number four and six respectively. - The Golden Eaglets, Flying Eagles, Super Eagles, Flamingoes, Falconets, Super Falcons, D’Tigers, other national teams are dominated by the Igbos and Hausas. - Politically, the Igbos and Hausas are more united than the Yorubas. The areas Yorubas usually perform excellently in are viz.: - Today, among ten Nigerians submitting their resumes to multinational corporations eight would be Yorubas. - Today, the major work of average Yoruba youths on the streets of Lagos is to collect royalty, due and charges from the Hausas and Igbos, using their motorcycles to make cool cash from their land - The Yorubas stay at various intersections harassing hardworking people transacting their legal businesses in the name of collecting charges and dues for the local government. https://www.naij.com/441183-yoruba-youths-have-lost-influence-respect-of-nigerians.html 2 Likes |

@Deadlytrash, your input is highly needed on this thread created by a Nigerdeltan. https://www.nairaland.com/3303547/why-exactly-yorubas-against-biafra#48703978-by-a-nigerdeltan If you're worth your silly rants and lies go to the thread and vomit your usual lies while ass-licking your eternal slave masters. Prove therein your silly claims of being a Nigerdelta wannabe with your contemptuous disposition. You can go with your cheerleaders to continue your usual show of shame as you advertise your expertise in history distortions and score some points with your slave masters. Good luck if you escape with your diarrhea 'mouth' without being placed in the abysmal pit of nothingness where you duly belong with your Yoruba folks. KwaraRat post: "You hate the Igbos . That one is indisputable . So why are you against any talk of Biafran seccesion? A Biafran nation will lead to mass exodus of igbos from your region and from there you can keep their properties and there will be a vacuum needed to be filled in lost Igbo jobs , artisans and merchant traders especially in areas like spare parts trade, and what not. This will see a huge boost in the SW economy especially in the area of housing, cheap supply of used furniture and other Biafran owned properties that they will not be carrying with them in their exodus. Jobs seems to be the biggest gain as there will be vacancies to be filled in corporations now vacant just as yorubas bennefited hugely from the 1966 mass exodus of Igbos from Lagos and other parts of Nigeria. Business climate will surely be more favorable since the absent of Igbo traders will lead to entrepreneurship opportunities for Yorubas . The Biafrans hardly supply you anything from their land so they won't be missed that much . Although there is a great possibility that the Niger Delta will also secede separately or jointly with the Igbos, but then again you now have oil in Lagos and Ogun and you can finally get rid of those wrapper tying ogogoro drinking pesky Ijaw militants in your land. So why exactly are you not supporting Biafra? I believe this is a win win for Yorubas. There is also the icing on the cake that with the Igbo and Niger Delta exit, the political climate of Nijeriya will be harmonized along your beloved APC alliance and there won't be any flat head Igbo or ogogoro ND troll arguing your political descions of supporting the north. So with all honesty, I ask why is it that you are against Biafr* and ND seccesion ? Inb4: Nigeria will never divide and all other Useless consolations." 2 Likes |

39xtr60r: @Mr.666, why will I support or oppose Biafrauud? What is my business with the original "One-Nigerianists" now pretending to seek secession? Only a very stupid and irrevocably cursed people would keep proposing a joint SS-Biafra Republic without showing any single document outlining the proposed states in it and the system by which they and the centre will be governed but yet keep believing the SS will blindly join them into that stupid contraption. If you so sincerely believe in the Niger Delta getting her own freedom separate from Biafrauud, then why have you never ever in your miserable repetitions here spared a single line to condemn your daft and stupid brothers, Ironsi and Ojukwu for thwarting and crushing of the 1966 Niger Delta Secession move championed by Adaka Boro, and then apologise to the Niger Deltans particularly Ijaws? You think you can fool any Niger Deltan? If you were not your incurably silly and daft self the recent ceasefire announcement by NDA without any prior consultation with any IPOB group should have shown you clearly that ND/SS does not want to have anything to do with the miserable proposed Biafrauud Republic and does not give a damn about it. But you still can't smell this obvious coffee since your greed and lust after SS oil, gas and solid minerals has corrupted your brain inside that your flat head so much that you look but can't see, you hear but can't understand. Shameless lot. If you people have any atom of shame left in you this latest NDA's spiteful action on IPOB by not consulting them before accepting negotiation with FG would by now have made you to stop attaching the SS to your Biafrauud proposal. But one is not surprised anyway because you are a disgraced tribe begging the SS for attention and acceptance as your only lifeline hence you accept whatever shit the SS throws at you. You people have lost all your self-esteem because of mere crude oil which is even no longer a hot cake in the international market. It is really unfortunate! I bet you that no other tribe in Nigeria will be so unctuous, subservient, obsequious and self-enslaving to another. Only Igbos are like that due to greed. Very low lives! The deadlytruth of this whole fraudulent SS-Biafra proposal is that any SS state or tribe that allows itself to be fooled into that contraption will end up regretting bitterly because once such a SS-Biafra country is granted the Igbos will in less than six years into her existence use their numerical strength in the new country's army to organize a coup, kill the civilian president (if he's from the SS tribe that finds itself in that country) but just overthrow him without killing him if he is Igbo. Then they'll put in place an all Igbo-military cabinet headed by an Igbo military man who would immediately suspend the strictly federal constitution (which they are currently proposing to bait the SS), and then dissolve all the states, and the new military government will decree into law an entirely new constitution which will concentrate power 100% at the centre as they attempted to do in 1966, then they'll conduct elections and Igbos will forever be winning. As the overwhelming majority tribe They'll allow very free, fair and transparent elections since they know they'll always win with their numbers. And they'll use the political control so gained to plunder the proceeds from the revenues got from that silly SS tribe that will make the mistake of falling for this Trojan Horse proposal they currently brandish before the SS people. Igbos are naturally centrist in political orientation, so their current proposal of a SS-Biafra Republic run on strict federalism is a story for the young, naïve and an ignoramus of Nigeria's history especially the events of 1966 when Igbos grabbed raw power. 3 Likes |

Deadlytrash a.k.a the Devil's Incarnate, the Igbo quest for nationhood is strictly for hardworking achievers and goal-getters, and not for lazy Uneme-Nekhua criminals and their parasitic cohorts. Igbos cannot afford to share a country with verm1ns and vagabonds parading as Uneme-Nekhua people on NL. The Igbo Nation are not willing to self-destruct with the deluded Uneme-Nekhua people". Deadlytrash, your wicked propaganda and foolish ranting on NL cannot stop the raging IPOB tsunamic movement as your eternal portion remains with your Fulani masters. Boorish cretin displaying foolery and flaunting it as knowledge, you should know that no amount of smart acting can make a mere butterfly become a bird. And whether you like it or not, your senseless repetitions and rantings on NL cannot prevent you and your abominable Uneme-Nekhua people spending the rest of your miserable lives with your Fulani masters. Brainless bigot, you don't care that your people are being decimated by your Fulani masters. You're not at all bothered that the marauders are having a field day in your domain, unchallenged by the Uneme-Nekhua people and their ass-licking elites. You're not concerned about the maiming and wanton destruction of lives and properties going on in the Middle-belt and some other Southern parts. You should be hiding your accursed head in shame that your people have only flourished at the expense of others by virtue of the injustice, inequity and lopsided arrangement in the polity coupled with the disgraceful manner your backstabbing elites ass-lick their masters. Let me take your oblong conehead down memory lane since you've become an unrepentant liar, notorious in manipulating and distorting history at will: In the 1956, a Fulani man, Umaru Altine was elected the Mayor of Enugu even as Zik was chased away from Lagos State by Awo's tribal area boys after wining an election in SW. The Fulani man defeated an Ibibio man in the election to administer Enugu. In that same period the likes of Ahmadu Bello and Akintola were recording hate speeches about igbos and the Northern Nigerian parliament was deliberating on things like revoking C of O of igbo owned lands in the north. Enugu became a municipality in 1956 with Umaru Altine its first mayor. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enugu According to Richard Sklar, an American political scientist who authored the the book “Nigerian Political Parties”, Mallam Umaru Altine who hailed from the old Sokoto Province of the defunct region of Northern Nigeria and who served as President of the Enugu Branch of the National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons (NCNC) was elected the first Mayor of Enugu in 1956. Go to Imo State, see Hausa advisers in Rochas cabinet. T.A Orji of Abia State and Sullivan of Enugu had Yorubas in their cabinets. In this 4th republic, Orji Uzor Kalu was the first governor to appoint a non-indigene into his cabinet. It's in record that Igbos are not known for land and people-grabbing tendencies unlike the Binis, Hausa-Fulanis and Yorubas, Igbos were never empire builders and never tried to conquer the smaller tribes around them to dispossess them of their lands. Igbos are not interested in SS non-Igbos. Igboland is sufficient for the reemerging nation. If Lagos state with a landmass of 3345km2 can contain up to 20 million people, then Abia State with a landmass of 5,430km2 can sufficiently contain 30 million people! Do you know that the South East zone alone is even bigger than Israel, Rwanda and Singapore in landmass? Miserable bigot from a criminal Uneme-Nekhua parasites, instead of parambulating about like a headless fowl you need to get a map ASAP and get yourself armed with necessary information Here are countries that are smaller than Biafr* and yet fare better than Nigeria: Switzerland, Israel, Singapore, Netherlands, Qatar, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, South Yemen, Kuwait and Oman republic. Pavore9: "Human capital development is what really counts because it decides what a Country would look like. Take for example, Timor-Leste that is about the combined size of Abia, Anambra and Imo with a population of about 1.5million people and has unfettered access to the sea but has the lowest Human Development Index and the highest Human Poverty Index in Asia. One can have a Country as big as the U.S but very unproductive while a Country that is as small as the size of Lagos will be a dream place to migrate to. The quality of the human mind determines the development of an area." https://www.nairaland.com/2461629/onshore-oil-fields-dont-want/7#39264577 Oyigbo LGA and Ogba-Ndoni-Egbema LGA are the two largest oil producing LGAs in Nigeria. Both LGAs are Igbo-speaking LGAs in Rivers State, and it is a reality that must be a source of heartache to Igbo haters. To make matters worse for enemies of progress, Anambra and Imo States have the largest gas reserves in Nigeria. Miserable haters like you can help yourself out with a dose of rat poison. There are crude oil wells in Izombe and Egbema, both in Imo State, being operated by Addax/Chevron and Sterling global respectively for many decades now. Obigbo and Egbema were added to Rivers State in the 1976 boundary adjustment. They were part of the old Imo State and East Central. That necessitated Dee Sam Mbakwe to take the then federal government to court to return back those territories to Imo State. https://www.nairaland.com/377857/abia-got-back-40-oil-wells-from-rivers-fgn-refused-to-pay-arrears-2010 These oil wells were taken from Abia during Obj's regime and handed to Rivers. Abia went to court and the case was settled by Yardua since early 2008 when the well were returned to their rightful owner. Nigeria's total gas deposit is 188 TCF and Anambra has more than 30 tcf - http://www.gasandoil.com/news/discoveries/d89bc98903f0500bdba5eca6bd2b8b9b Igbos' survival is not hinged on political posts, presidency or crude oil unlike the greedy and criminal Uneme-Nekhua leeches and their cotravellers. The most important thing is having oil in your brain. Japan, Luxembourg and Switzerland achieved prosperity without crude oil. Let it be clear to the Unemes and their cotravellers that the Igbo Nation cannot continue to subsidise their vassalage, parasitism and obliviousness. Igbos cannot afford to continue to share a country with hypocrites parading as Uneme-Nekhua people on NL. The Igbo Nation are not willing to self-destruct with the deluded Uneme-Nekhua people. @Deadlytrash a.k.a the Devil's Incarnate, there's still the need for you to find the nearest brick wall and smash your oblong conehead into smithereens. Mill.erz post: "I am Urhobo and have always been against the Biafran thing but it is slowly and steadily dawning on me that the igbos are not our enemies; intact they are our true brothers. In Nigeria as a whole, the Igbo's are the only group with the same interests with the Niger Delta. They want True Federalism, we want same. They have proven that they're not out for our resources. They supported our brother Jonathan even more than us and are still ready to support any Niger Deltan running for any political position. In the ND, you can never hear of igbos clashing with other ethnic groups and that's largely because of the sense of oneness. So I stand with Niger Delta seceding with Biafr*." Mill.erz post: "I'm a Christian so I love everyone, igbos inclusive. Per the bolded, it must not be named Biafra. Igbos and us have a collective interest. In the event of seceding with the Igbo's, they will bring a lot to the table. They will obviously not be parasitic like the Hausa/Fulani's." sigiyaya post: "my sister we shall all go both the south south and the south east and we shall run a regional government or a true federalism where every region will control it's resources. The igbos are in forefront of this agitation because they are the big brothers and it expected of them. imagine the Urhobos or the isekos or ishekiris or ibibios or efik even the ijaws coming out to agitate freedom, it will really look like a child's play considering there population, but with the Igbo's it is a force and it be taking serious. Let's get our nation first then can we can agree to adopt any name for it. Check well the biafr* was given by an ijaw man and not and not igbo. Even in niger delta republic the ijaws are the biggest and how show are you that the will not dominate and intimidate other smaller tribes. @Deadlytrash a.k.a the Devil's Incarnate and accursed cretinous savage from the inconsequential Uneme-Nekhua clan, https://www.nairaland.com/3167297/federal-governments-violation-aburi-accord-by-femiadeshina-March02-2012 ...As one of the key parties to the Aburi Accord, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, returns to mother earth today, it is also apposite to return to Aburi, and look at the letter and the spirit of the accord once again, an agreement that was violated by the Federal side, and which made a bloody internecine war inevitable... Other matters like the holding of an ad hoc constitutional conference, fate of soldiers involved in the January 15, 1966 coup, rehabilitation of displaced persons, etc, were also amicably resolved, and the conferees returned happily to Nigeria. Only for the Federal side to deliver a blow to the solar plexus: the Aburi Accord, Gowon said, was unworkable, and he reneged on all the agreements. Using the Eastern Nigerian Broadcasting Service, Ojukwu played the tape recording of the proceedings at Aburi repeatedly, to educate the populace on who was playing Judas. Later, he made a broadcast in which he said: “we in the East are anxious to see that our differences are resolved by peaceful means and that Nigeria is preserved as a unit, but it is doubtful, and the world must judge whether Lt. Col Gowon’s attitudes and other exhibitions of his insincerity are something which can lead to a return of normalcy and confidence in the country. “I must warn all Easterners once again to remain vigilant. The East will never be intimidated, nor will she acquiesce to any form of dictation. It is not our intention to play the aggressor. Nonetheless, it is not our intention to be slaughtered in our beds. We are ready to defend our homeland.” In a piece I did last December, shortly after Ojukwu passed away, I said he was virtually pushed into war by the infidelity of the Federal side to the Aburi Accord. I still stand by that position. Ojukwu was called ‘warlord’ for many decades, but he was by no means a warmonger. He only did what he needed to do for his people–and for the country." As his earthly remains are interred today, it is tragic that Nigeria is still submerged in the morass that Ojukwu already identified about 45 years ago. Today, bombs go off like firecrackers in the country. There is agitation for the review of the revenue allocation formula. There are strident calls for the convocation of a sovereign national conference. Even some component parts are threatening to pull out of the federation if anything happened to their ‘son’ who is now in power. Didn’t Ojukwu warn of these landmines ahead? Were all these issues not already settled at Aburi? Foremost journalist and media administrator, Akogun Tola Adeniyi, in a recent media interview, explained the Aburi Accord this way: “Let every region be semi-autonomous and develop at its own level.” Yes, that was the spirit and letter of Aburi, but which sadly became a road not taken. And is that not why we are still suffering today, living in a rickety and decrepit country that can burst at the seams any moment? I tell you, Ojukwu was a prophet, and like most prophets, he had no honour in his own country. Pity. But whether we like it or not, there’s no way we won’t return to Aburi. Willy-nilly. I only hope it will be sooner than later, before Nigeria goes to grief. On Aburi I stand. Federal Government was perfidious and duplicitous on Aburi. It is still the same way today. That is why as Nigerians, we are most times disillusioned, dismayed, dispirited, dejected and depressed. When will change come to this land? Our hearts are getting weary. Last December, I wrote that Ojukwu should be buried like a hero. I’m glad at the rites of passage so far, culminating in the interment today. Yes, bury him like a true hero. An icon, an avatar, deserves no less. This generation will surely not see another like Ojukwu. He fought not only for his own people, but for a true federation founded on justice, fair play, equity and rectitude. Unfortunately, he did not see the Nigeria of his dreams. Will we? Adieu the Ikemba, the Eze Igbo Gburugburu. May your soul rest in peace. Ka nkpur’obi gi zue ike n’adukwa. By Femi Adesina, current special adviser on media and publicity to PMB Friday March 02, 2012 Source: http://www.euphemiaudanoh.com/2016/06/federal-governments-violation-of-aburi.html?utm_source=&utm_medium=facebook&m=1 KADUNA NZEOGWU'S DEATH Gowon ordered that Nzeogwu's body should be flown to Kaduna and buried with full military honours – even as the war raged on in the Eastern Region. Even in death, Nzeogwu was still respected by federal and northern troops. Domkat Bali referred to him as: “a nice, charismatic and disciplined officer, highly admired and respected by his colleagues. At least he was not in the habit of being found in the company of women all the time messing about with them in the officers mess, a pastime of many young officers then….we believed that he was a genuinely patriotic officer who organised the 1966 coup with the best of intentions who was let down by his collaborators….If we had captured him alive, he would not have been killed. I believe he probably would have been tried for his role in the January 15 coup, jailed and probably freed after some time. His death was regrettable."" ANTHONY ENAHORO'S DEATH No one knew the day Enahoro died; he died a nobody. How much did the FG spend on his burial? Was it televised live? How many foreign news media carried the news? Ojukwu certainly wasn't in the same league as Enahoro and Awolowo; they both died and were buried like the nobodies they were. Ojukwu was celebrated in life and in death. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-17230673 http://www.cnn.com/2011/11/26/world/africa/nigeria-biafra-leader/ 1 Like |

@Mr. 666 the beast, No Urhobo person will ever write the rubbish that he has come to realize that Biafra agitation is in his interest. NEVER! Only a frustrated IPOB impostor would write such blunder. The mere brandishing of Ibori's (An Urhobo man) photograph by Biafrauud agitators last year got his kinsmen so exasperated that they could not wait a minute to rebuke those IPOBians and dissociate the Urhobo nation from the whole charade. After all they knew it was two Igbos who, through their forceful abolition of federalism in 1966, put them in the mess against which they are agitating today, and that they would not have been in any kind of agitation today had the two Igbo fools, Ironsi and Ojukwu, just allowed our federalism be. I can see how you pasted pictures of oil wells in you claim are all yours. You also claim the Igbo-speaking oil bearing areas were deliberately gerrymandered into SS states just to strip SE states of oil-producing status. Very interesting contradition! So you people knew you were this blessed with oil wells and everything else yet you people dismantled federalism which is the only system that would have allowed you to maximally enjoy the proceeds of these endowments on your lands? Am I not therefore vindicated for believing that you people are just a pack of idiots? If you and your Ironsi had left the regions the way you met it would any military HOS have later come to adjust boundaries to cut Igbo speaking areas into other states? Before Ironsi came you people had the whole SE region to yourselves and were free to do as you pleased with provincial boundaries thus your Okpara had the power to cut those oil bearing areas into the current SE. But Ironsi, the fool of the century, came and pioneered the criminal and unilateral alteration of boundaries in Nigeria giving room for all others who succeeded him to do same and a big fat fool with a flat head is here pointing fingers at Enahoro. Ojukwu your hero himself attended Awolowo's burial and declared him as the best president Nigeria never had. So what posthumous honour could be greater than that? Enahoro's burial was a nationalized event even though we did not demand that the FG did it so. I will reply you each time you say something new other than those your copy and paste repetitions which I have smashed in many other threads. 3 Likes |

And in 1967-70 gladly colluded with their masters to gleefully commit genocide on supposed Anioma brothers. I shall still try to help your corrupted brain with Nigeria history... AGUIYI IRONSI DID NOT DISSOLVE THE REGIONAL GOVERNMENTS OR TERMINATE RESOURCE CONTROL; GOWON WITH THE COLLUSION OF AWOLOWO DID! Gowon created the first 12 states after the dissolution of the 4 regions. Gowon did the damage by creating States to checkmate the Igbos. However a few months afterwards, an Igboman Emeka Ojukwu spearheaded the Aburi agreement in which fiscal federalism and even confederation was adopted, but the other Nigerian, including Awolowo and Enahoro kicked against it. That is why fiscal federalism has not been experienced in this nation since then. In 1972 Gowon with the support of Awolowo enacted and enforced the Indigenization decree which led to the collapse of the Nigerian economy. To add insult to the festering injury a Yoruba man, Olusegun Obasanjo, promulgated the Land Use Decree (now Land Use Act) in 29th of March, 1978. By the provision of the Land Use Decree of 1978, the inhabitants of the oil producing communities were turned into squatters in their own ancestral homes, as land where oil is explored, produced, transported and stored were decreed to belong to the state long after political independence in 1960. The existence and application of the Land Use Act of 1978 contributed to the present state of neglect, under-development and the insecurity of the region. 39xtr60r: Edo never agreed to confederacy. What Edo always stood for was federalism. Moreover Enahoro the genuine voice of Edos did not attend the Aburi meeting let alone agree to any proposal there to warrant the accusation that he later reneged on what he endorsed. And by the way all Nigerians, including that monumental fool called Zik, had at the independence constitutional conference in 1957 signed and sealed federalism as our collective wish. But the same Zik on arrival back in Nigeria went to continue preaching unitary system disguised as, "One-Nigeria", to his fellow Igbos in the army thereby eventually inspiring them to start plotting ways to forcefully change us to unitary system against our will. And Ironsi later really did that to please Zik. Any wonder that except Nzeogwu and Ademoyega all the top planners of the coup claimed they wanted a stronger centre for national unity which was a very perfect reflection of the argument Zik's had been trying to sell all before then? This shows that Zik later tactically reneged on the federal arrangement agreement reached in London. 3 Likes |

@Deadlytrash of NL, https://www.nairaland.com/3143222/biafra-memo-oba-akenzua-frustrated-implementation-of-aburi-accord-january-1967 http://www.punchng.com/biafra-memo-akenzua-aburi/ Prince Akenzua (now the late Oba of Benin) along with top permanent secretaries including Alhaji Yusuf Gobir, Phillip Asiodu, Eme Ebong, B.N. Okagbue and Allison Ayida deconstructed in Lagos, all that was agreed in Aburi. On arrival in Lagos, Prince Akenzua discussed with Gowon and raised objections to what was agreed in Aburi. Gowon asked him to raise a memo which he did. I am sure a copy of the memo is with Gowon today while a copy is in the archives in the Presidency. Civil servants are to be seen and not to be heard and that is why Akenzua never released a copy of the memo to the world. The memo dated January 8, 1967 began with: “Your Excellency, in view of my discussion with you last night, I am raising this memo in the interest our fatherland, Nigeria”. Akenzua traced the long hard road that Nigeria had travelled and stressed on the need to keep a United Nigeria. He said in the memo that Gowon had given too much away in Aburi and that it would lead to the destruction of the country. He further added that Gowon had “legalised” total regionalism which “will make the centre very weak.” Akenzua alluded in his memo that a weak centre would lead to confederation and total disintegration of the country. It was the memo that prompted Gowon to summon a meeting of the secretaries to the military governments and other officials which was held in Benin City between February 16 and 18, 1967. If you look at the minutes of the Benin meeting presided over by Mr. H. A. Ejueyitchie, Secretary to the Federal Military Government, you will discover that it was a total rejection of what was agreed upon in Aburi. The Benin meeting interpreted in its own way the agreement reached in Aburi. The decisions at Aburi amounted to, in terms of political and military control of Nigeria, that the country should be governed as a confederation. N.B: The Omo N’oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo Erediauwa (CFR), the 38th Oba of Benin, who was born on June 22, 1923 and ascended the throne on March 23, 1979. The Oba of Benin is the traditional ruler of the Edo people and head of the historic Eweka dynasty of the Benin Empire. Before becoming an Oba, as Prince Samuel Aiseokhuoba Igbinoghodua Akenzua, he was an outstanding civil servant. He, in fact, rose to become the Federal Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health before he retired in 1973. Along with others, he attended the Aburi meeting held at the Peduase Lodge where the conflict of Nigeria was discussed between January 4 and January 5, 1967. Aburi is a town in Ghana and a 45-minute drive from Accra, the capital of Ghana. Those who attended the meeting were Lt. Col. Yakubu Gowon, Col. Robert Adebayo, Lt. Col. Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Lt. Col. David Ejoor, Lt. Col. David Hassan Katsina, Commodore J.E.A. Wey, Major Mobolaji Johnson, Alhaji Kam Selem and Mr. J. Omo-Bare. Others were Prince S.I.A. Akenzua (Permanent Under-Secretary, Federal Cabinet Office.), Mr. P.T. Odumosu (Secretary to the Military Government, West.), Mr. N.U. Akpan (Secretary to the Military Government, East.), Mr. D.P. Lawani (Under-Secretary, Military Governor’s Office, Mid-West) and Alhaji Ali Akilu (Secretary to the Military Government, North.) The Chairman of the Ghana National Liberation Council, Lt. Gen. J.A. Ankrah, declared the meeting open in his capacity as then the head of state of Ghana. |

@Mr. 666 the beast and antichrist representative/ambassador on NL, your story about Ijaw youths "apologising to igbos" over the civil war is self explanatory. The mere fact that they are just youths makes it clear that they were born far after the war ended and that they have never on their own done any personal research to acquaint themselves with detailed knowledge of who really offended who. They are all young boys who have swallowed hook line and sinker the default Igbo propaganda of lies and half-truths running all over the internet. Why did Ijaw elders not appologise? Most of those youths were deceived into a feeling of guilt and moral obligation towards Igbos on the strength of the solidarity (though fraudulent) which they saw Igbos showering on GEJ towards 2015 election. No single one among them would know that Isaac Boro was first to declare a republic for his people but got arrested and nearly killed for it by Ojukwu and Ironsi if not for divine intervention. Let them grow up more and see if they will not later dissociate themselves from that ignorance-based utterance. 4 Likes |

39xtr60r: The only true voice of Edos in the aspect of politics was Enahoro. As long as Enahoro was not there courtesy of the fact that Neither Gowon Nor Ojukwu felt comfortable with his level of intelligence and radicalism, then all others there were Gowon's or Ojukwu's nominees and never the nominees of the genuine political interest Edos. As far as Edos are concerned they were not represented at all in Aburi summit because they were not allowed to , out of their own will, freely nominate anyone to represent their collective voice there. The only person they would have nominated if they had been given such a chance was Enahoro who incidentally was still languishing in jail courtesy of Zik and Ironsi's desire to please their Hausa-fulani slave masters. So Edos had nothing to do with Aburi Accord at all. It was not us that nominated Asiodu, Lawani and the rest so they did not act on our behalf. We would have accepted responsibility if and only if it was Enahoro that attended. The Aburi issue was a political one and only Enahoro was our politically qualified delegate and voice. Only Enahoro had been making proposals of federalism on our behalf. The rest were never in the picture originally. So why ditch the Enahoro with whom they had been debating over federalism versus unitary system for the likes of Asiodu, Lawani, etc who were not even part of the debate from day one? That was quite curious. Simply another fraudulent decision by both Ojukwu and Gowon. Aburi Accord was nothing but a charade organized by Gowon and Ojukwu without carrying along all the other men like Awolowo, Enahoro, Zik and may be Dipcharima. Those whom Gowon and Ojukwu nominated were not politicians representing us but bureaucrats representing either Gowon or Ojukwu himself. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Your perpetual ass-licking stance still rings aloud in the polity. You expect the Igbo Nation to pat you and your bloodthirsty Yoruba partners in crime who positioned themselves in airports and railway stations hounding and killing off innocent Eastern passengers. Aguiyi Ironsi never destroyed regionalism; he merely centralised government to checkmate the anarchy at that time which is purely military way of givernance. All the 4 Regions were intact with fiscal responsibility and resource control until Ironsi was killed by Danjuma and his Northern brothers whom Ironsi entrusted and delegated various government functionaries to. It was Gowon who abolished the regions in July 1966. But in January 5 Ojukwu pushed for a Confederation which was agreed to and signed by Gowon with the Edo, Yoruba and Northern representatives in Aburi, Ghana. The confederal system of government was better than the regionalism Yorubas and their Edo cohorts claim Ironsi destroyed. When Gowon reneged on the Aburi Accord not one Edo elite or the treacherous Yoruba leader stood up to the Nottherners. Instead they colluded with their Northern masters to entrench unitary rule. Today, the same Yorubas are demanding the restructuring of the country and enthronement of fiscal federalism, the very thing Ojukwu got in Aburi, Ghana about 50 years ago in January 1967, which the Edos and Yorubas helped to scuttle. https://www.nairaland.com/273382/turn-nigeria-into-nation-federations-18-region-structure-enahoro-2009 This the notorious Enahoro who this confused Uneme-Nekhua minion has been bragging with. @Mr. 666 the beast and antichrist on NL, here is a submission by a very honest Igbo man on these issues. His NL moniker is inquisitiv. May God bless him. With him I came to realize that there are still a very rare species of honest Igbos. I wept the day I read him on my thread on Saro Wiwa's last statement. Recall that the said thread was a straight debate between you and me. Hear him: Inquisitiv: I am a full blooded igbo and my grandfather, uncles and father fought in the civil war. They commandered platoons and by God's grace they came back alive. I had a close, very close relationship with my grandfather before he died some 12+ years ago and I have gone through his library of almost 500 books documenting the pre- indepence, independence and civil war history of Nigeria. Infact after his death I took over the library. I totally and completely agree with DEADLYTRUTH although I will not agree with some of his tribalistic comments. however DEADLY TRUTH is spot on about his historical analysis and he has a grasp of what he is talking about. I spent hundreds of hours in my grandfathers sprawling library sitting with him and discussing the very things DEADLYTRUTH just said here. I know some people will start questioning my igboness but I am here to speak my mind. I am even a heir to my grandfathers Nze title so I will not defend my igboness. the bitter, sad and indedd the deadlytruth is that several mistakes were made by that generation but the most DRASTIC, POORLY THOUGHT OUT AND OUTRIGHTLY STUPID CATASTROPHIC MISTAKES WERE MADE BY MY PEOPLE--- the igbos. My grandfather was an accomplished igbo leader of thought, my uncle has a bullet in his thigh till today, my dad blew up Nigerian soldiers using the ogbunigwe but THEY all agree that the coup by Nzeogwu was stupid, arrogant and outrightly silly. how could you kill every tribe except igbos and expect them to send flowers and thank you notes to you? the war was unnecessary, Ojukwu was a spoilt kid and should have employed the same matured and political diplomacy of Awolowo. How can you accuse Awolowo of betrayal? Did he sign a treaty with biafra. My family fought because when the bullets start flying, you as a man must protect your wives and daughters. Zik was blinded by an ambition to rule a large African country and should have listened to Enahoro and Co. I have the history books. I know what I am saying. Onye na- amaro ebe mmiri bido agaghi ima ebe okwu si. we are the future of this country and we should tackle these issues without insulting each other. I rest my case. 5 Likes |
