Sound art: sculptures created from exhaust systems of Formula 1

All mechanical components of an engine have been designed with a function in mind. Normally, when they have already fulfilled their mission, they are discarded and lost in oblivion, or cast into a steel industry. However, a piece is also a work of art. Although it fulfills a practical function, the exhaust systems of old Formula 1 can be converted, for example, into sculptures.

That was what Mike O’Connor, artist and founder of Fastest Club, an entity limited to a select group of historic car owners of Formula 1 cars. As a family, they travel all over the world with their machines to think about several races of the current calendar of the Grand Circus and spend time on the track wearing lights, allowing fans to see them in action and hear the roar of the V8, V10 and V12 engines, now so dear and longed for.

0’Connor is not exactly an unfortunate man in terms of possessions. In his garage he has a Sauber-Ferrari C30 (chassis # 4) that was used by Sergio Pérez in the 2011 season, although fortunately it was not the one that crashed in the Monaco Grand Prix that year. Luckily for us, the collector also has a Bachelor of Arts, which led him to take the exhaust systems he had stored and do something prominent with them.

Porsche Macan GTS, the sports version comes with 380 hp

The last to join the range has been the Porsche Macan GTS, a copy that wants to talk about its power and dynamic behavior.

Although they are data that do not matter so much in this type of versions, it approves a consumption of 9.6 l / 100km and CO2 emissions of 218 g / km. The empty weight of the SUV amounts to 1,910 kg, but it has some dynamic improvements.
