NDU: DICKSON MEETS ASUU'S DEMANDS ASK LECTURERS TO RETURN TO CLASSES.

YENAGOA: The strike embarked upon by the Academic staff union of Universities, Niger Delta University chapter, which has lingered for over four months may have finally come to an end, following the two months salary demands demanded by the Union, the government of Bayelsa state yesterday 19th August 2016, succumbed to pressure from both students and the public, the government made available two months salaries demanded by the Union in their last Congress.

Reports reaching our desk reveals that the government of Bayelsa state has released the salaries for the months of April and may to both members of the Academic and non academic staff union of the Niger Delta University chapter.

Investigations from government sources has further revealed that the funds were sent to the account department of the institution, one month salary alerts was confirmed to have been received yesterday 19th August, while the other month was received today 20th August.

Though some staffs of the varsity had complained bitterly that they are yet to receive theirs, Bodmasnews.com therefore ran an investigation and discovered that only staffs who banked with the United bank of Africa had received alerts due to the banking system of various banks and others are to follow suit soon.

The Special adviser to the governor on students affairs, Hon. Austin Adigio, has advised students to remain calm and be prepared to go back to school next week.

Though ASUU-NDU is yet to make an official statement to this effect, but findings reveals the union will do so in the coming week.

The university dean of students affairs, Dr. Biryai has asked all students to return back to school and prepare for their exams, stating confidently that the strike is now a thing of the past.
