THREE suspected members of a millitant group, alleged to be responsible for blowing up pipelines of oil and gas pipelines have been arrested in Akwa Ibom State. They were arrested by the operatives of the state police command. The suspects, seiniyefa Nelson, Victor William, and Nsebong Dickson, were caught on August 18 in their hotel hideouts in eket local government area of the state. The state police public relation officer, Miss cordelia nwawe, who paraded the suspects last friday, said, <ol><li>They were planning to attack oil and gas pipelines before the police apprehended them</li> <li>Nwawe disclose that the police recovered two high powered Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs)</li> </ol> she explained that batteries to power the explosives were also recovered from the hoodlums. The batteries, according to the PPRO, were wrapped with red fabrics. The police through intelligence arrested a group of young suspected millitants, who were planning to destroy pipelines in in akwa ibom, she said.
